If my memory is good here, it breaks down as follows: - H&H against the other conference: 30 games - 3 games against each team in the two other divisions in your conference (30 games)* - 6 games against your divisional opponents (24) *this would require an alternating 2-for-1 in terms of home/away. For instance, say the Wings play Vancouver. We place twice in GM Place one season (once at home) and then it switches the following year.) It would mean less play against Western Conference opponents outside of the division, but every team visits the Joe and vice-versa. There's no "we don't play this division this year" talk any more.

IMO, they need to adopt the NBA's scheduling format.

Tonight's update is purely cosmetic -- there are no functional changes this time around. (Also note that there may be some images that look slightly off -- that's okay, they're going to get updated shortly but I didn't want to have the forums unavailable while I did that.)

Oh, I forgot to mention: Where the LGW logo is now will eventually be replaced by the "News Tab" feature that was causing loading problems before. Once I can get a good caching method enabled, it's back. I think the logo is a bit redundant, anyway -- I figure you guys have a pretty good grip on what site you're posting.

Just to ease everyone's concerns: there is no calendar for April. There's just a handful of games and my focus shifts to the Playoff Brackets.

My guess would be Filppula as well (i mentioned as much in the article update here.) That thigh injury has been nagging him for the last couple of weeks and I haven't seen mention of any improvement with it since the initial mention last week. My thinking is that they don't want to play him in the back-to-back and that he'll be getting a 3-day stretch of no game activity to hopefully help. Doesn't hurt to keep Meech relatively fresh, either, since he's No. 8 on the depth chart. <-- Hoping to god it isn't Hank.

Listen guys (and gals), most of you know I've opted for years not to activate a curse word filter here on the message forums. This is mainly because I believe that the vast majority of the members here know how to conduct themselves and realize that, if you're going to curse, there's a time and a place for it. However, over the last several weeks it has begun to get out of hand. If you take a look at the Forum Guidelines (required reading for everyone here), it clearly states that I don't mind it, but if it gets excessive it'll result in the filter getting activated along with suspensions for the worst offenders. So, please -- clean up the posts. I don't mind cursing with the situation dictates it (everyone needs to vent, and this place is as good as any to do it) -- but do it in moderation if you need to do it at all. No one-word curse posts, no posts consisting of just cursing, no derogatory slang terms, etc.. Thanks!

I don't want to beat a dead, pulverized horse here... but let's not forget that in the middle of that streak there was a certain goal off the protective netting that helped out that streak quite a bit. There's obviously no guarantee the Wings would've won that game, but at 2-2 in the 3rd all bets are off.

FYI: They are not new rules. It's been the policy here for years. Recently, however, people have abused the lack of a filter here and it's high time for a refresher course of said rules and guidelines.

Most interesting thing here is that the Ducks just lost their leading goal scorer and while they may be the 5th seed right now.... They're only 3 points away from missing the playoffs entirely. Considering it's been two-straight without a goal, this final month is going to be interesting.

Some of you guys here know me in person and I'm definitely no saint when it comes refraining from cursing, so I'm definitely not one to shy away from it. However, I do refrain here except for some occasional extreme circumstances (the Sharks goal off the protective netting being a big example here.) You guys don't have to eliminate it entirely -- just show some restraint. You don't get bonus points here in stature by squeezing in as many F-bombs as you can in a post. Also, I consider this post ample warning, too... People that continue to excessively abuse the privilege of completely uncensored posting on these forums will be made examples of.

I think he's looked great thus far and should really relish in his role once Lidstrom comes back. Not any pressure to be a Top 2 here, just play hard, finish your checks and get in some spot duty with the No. 2 PP unit. He's looked good and will only get better.

While I haven't seen video of the incident (and therefore can't judge how egregious the Eager/Pronger incident was), if you think that players don't go after areas were their opposition is nursing an injury then I've got a bridge to sell you. It's been that way for a long, long time. The vast majority not as blatant as Eager's attempt, judging by the comments here.

But, but -- it was physics, right?

Really? These prices were up on the board and it was from one of the "embedded" bars near section 110, not the kiosk ones in the middle of the promenade.
