    Pronger Has A Boo Boo

What's amusing to me is that over the last month or two the only video I've seen involving Parros is of him getting his ass kicked.

Same. Is it just me or did the beer prices go down a bit? I recall spending $8.50 for a large draft at the season opener but last night they were $8.25?

Where's the Guinness stand? My choices include Molson or wheat-flavored cat piss. I choose Molson. I'm still sour that I can't get my Blue there. Molson ain't bad, however. Biggest irritation of the night was finding out, as I'm walking through Greektown (the new parking garage there is EXCELLENT), that the damn People Mover was shut down. Ended up taking the Fishbones shuttle and were in our seats 15 minutes prior to the start of the game. Excellent time! I do have to admit to huffing and puffing at the puck when Datsyuk got his first goal... My seats were right down in that corner on the near side (so Datsyuk was pretty much right in front of us...), but that seemed like the slowest rebound shot ever. I also made every effort before the national anthem, when they were presenting the "hockeytown hardest worker" (or whatever award), to yell to Dan Cleary (who was a co-winner and there in a suit on the ice) "SIGN THE CONTRACT, DANNY!" Jackman's reaction after getting stripped of the puck at the end (not sure if cameras caught it) was priceless. I think he made a lap of the St. Louis zone just looking straight up to the rafters.

I'll be at tonight's game so if anyone wants to meet up during the 1st or 2nd intermission feel free to post here. I'm in the lower bowl near the zamboni end.

Red Wings, Cleary close to new deal

I'm wondering if Stuart really has a chance to sign with a California team... Best chance would probably be back in San Jose, but who knows if any bridges were burned there. He wasn't likely to re-up with the Kings (I guess that could be argued either way) and i don't see how Anaheim could fit him into the lineup... ... So who, exactly? Maybe Phoenix and make the drive to LA every so often to visit the family, or at least have his family close enough where the other half can visit her family in short order? Who knows. For me, considering Stuart's age and where he's at in his career, you would think he'd jump at the chance to remain with this club(provided he performs) beyond this season as long as the financials are satisfactory.

    Luongo

You would if he cemented your goaltending position for the next decade.
  9. Matt

    Luongo

Since when did Luongo gain this rep of needing a high number of shots in order to be effective? There's a difference between "needing a lot of shots" and not having a choice in the matter (Florida). Luongo is the top goaltender on the planet, IMO. I still shed a tear in my beer over the Wings not landing him prior to the draft, and I still get a good laugh out of all of the posters here who ranted on about how "he's not a proven goaltender! no playoff experience!"...

  11. Sorry, but the third San Jose goal tonight deserves its own thread. That was a ******* joke. The fact that that play is NOT reviewable is just another notch in the the "Mickey Mouse League" belt. If I see ANY of these referees and linesman see a wink of the Stanley Cup Playoffs I'll flip my lid. In a league that prides itself on parity -- especially when points are important at this point in the season -- the fact that the referees missed that call when over 20,000+ had no problem with it is deplorable. *******. Joke.

    March Schedule Desktop NOW AVAILABLE!

That, unfortunately, was the only photo that I had to work with. If there's a larger (or better) one of him from Friday I'll use it.

  14. Unfortunately for me, Comcast decided that they were going to be doing work in my neighborhood today which resulted in me losing all internet/TV access from about 10am this morning on. I *was* able to get access via a nearby Starbucks from about 2:30-3:30pm, but by and large I missed most of the activity here. So, my question is this: How was the performance of the site? This is especially pointed at those that have been present here for the last few trade deadlines, since they can compare it to those. Did it go down at all? If it was slow, how long did it occur? How often? Thanks!
  15. Who the F cares that your parents have season tickets? Do want to actually add something meaningful to this thread or are you just going to spout off about "they should've kept playing" (watch the replay again) or "wha wha "wha" whining. Because we all know the amount of money you put in to being a fan of a team is the ultimate determining factor in what degree you should complain, rant, etc., etc., about something that happens that's obviously illegal. Let me ask you: Do you count at all because you still suck from the Red Wing ticket teet of your parents? You tell me how that actually matters. Some of the posts in here amaze me sometimes...
  16. Who the hell is this douchebag doing the commentary about the "non-goal" on NHL On the Fly on NHL Network? "Um, uh... I don't think it's a big deal because the rule book has too many rules, but uh.... if it was in the Final then, uh, it'd be a big deal, so uh...." WTF? Did the puck go off this guys melon before this dips*** went on the air?

  18. Throw the challenge flag, Babcock! /... nevermind...

    2/29 GDT: Sharks 2, Red Wings 2

This argument is asinine. I don't care if the Red Wings won this game 7-1 and San Jose's only goal was off the protective netting, I'm still livid about it. Some people won't have the same amount of venom -- obviously -- as they do in this case but a puck out of play is a puck out of play. The circumstances in which it occured does NOT change the fact that it did. The fact that it did at all is deplorable.
  20. Detroit could've kept playing on the play and Setoguchi still could've scored. Your point is moot.

    2/29 GDT: Sharks 2, Red Wings 2

I didn't see a third goal. I saw a puck out of play. I call it like I see it -- unlike some paid professionals with whistles.
  22. Redmond just said it makes the NHL look "bush league." No argument here.
  23. Unbelievable. Lost at least a point tonight in what's now a competition for first in the conference because we've got assclowns for referees and a rulebook. There's absolutely NO excuse why that play cannot be reviewable. None.
  24. You do realize that the game is ongoing at this point, right? (And that that goal is the difference in the game as it stands.) Anyway, it shouldn't take a monstrous screw up by the referees like that to realize that a play like that CAN happen... It's just not forward thinking and just falls back to the MML feel. Ridiculous.
