QFT. I pretty much agree with Packer's comments throughout the last few pages. Pretty amusing that UofM is now going to have to pay property taxes in Dantonio's head. State lost to a school that lost to a Division-1AA program!

If you're talking about the parking structure directly connected to the Joe, it's $15. Been that way for a couple of seasons now.
-
What dos Foxtown include? Is it the parking structure off I-75 on the west side of Woodward only? Or does it include all the lots/structures in that area? I'm trying to remember what the lot is that's out behind Hockeytown Cafe and the Town Pump, but it's been a few years since I parked there. As an update: I've added the entire People Mover route and stops. I've added the lots mentioned above along with their details. I'm going to add pretty much everything to this thing: bars, hotels, etc. So if anyone has good recommendations, please feel free to chime in. Remember, the more details the better!

It may seem like that, but the plan is to have this map be an interactive one-stop resource. Shuttles, People Mover stops, Parking lots, places to watch the game, etc. Thanks for the input!

I don't want to be a devil's advocate here, but the Lions have been ridiculously good at taking advantage of the deficiencies of the teams they've faced (which good teams do, mind you.) The BIG tests of this season are yet to come. That's a pretty tough 2nd half schedule.

Isn't it crazy? I'm waiting for the locust and the Detroit River to turn to blood! But that stiff-arm at the 5 on Selvin Young totally PWNED.

I'm so disappointed in Shuan Rogers... ... Where the hell was the Dr. Pepper bottle to pull out of your sock? *shakes head*

[attachmentid=506] Sorry, couldn't resist.

That was nucking futs. I saw that on the first replay (after screaming at the TV about who blew the tackle). To go from laying on your damn chest on the far side of the field and going balls-to-the-wall to make the play -- as you said -- some 85 yards away... Wow. Still can't get over Henne's performance. I'm really, REALLY gonna miss him, Hart and Long next year. Anyone read Hart's post-game quote when asked about what he was feeling late in the game? "Sometimes, you get your little brother excited when you're playing basketball -- let them get the lead... And then you come back." Oooo.... burn! All kidding aside... this was a helluva game. I was pretty damn nervous up until (literally on my knees in front of the TV) Crable's HUGE sack on 2nd down. After that I didn't think they had a chance at the 1st. Game balls to Henne and Crable in this one. Wow.

A beautiful thing.

I want to have Chad Henne's babies.

Zetterberg's future deal will be more than Datsyuk's based on inflation alone. I'd expect somewhere in the $7.5m/year range, easily.

If Hossa were to be moved it wouldn't happen for quite some time. His salary is too much to eat at this point. Holland did say back near training camp that the Red Wings had the capability to add one more "elite level" player to the roster.
-
In my opinion Hossa would be the best fit of any of the options out there -- he'd just cost a mint in assets. He brings incredible scoring punch from the wing, has good speed, size, instincts... pretty much everything. He's actually a player I would think that Holland would want to tie up to a multi-year deal once he acquired him. If Waddell figures that the cost would be higher. I've discussed this a bit with some other members over IM and I would think to get the foot in the door with talks would require at least one 1st (probably two) along with Filppula and Kindl. I don't know if Atlanta, for all of Kronwall's promise, would be willing to take on that contract at this point.

Well, I wanted to put it on there as Dan M.F.-ing Cleary, but I wasn't sure how that'd go over. A good time to roll out a new website, wouldn't it be?

An Evening with Detroit Hockey Legends Fundraiser
Matt replied to Favshortie51913's topic in General
I just wanted to pin this up so everyone has a chance to see it. I've been there a few times now, burning a hole in my wallet every time -- usually purchasing stuff for my daughters, and the ownership there is really great. I'll keep Randy and his family in my thoughts and prayers. -
I would have to agree with this assessment. Adding a few more grind-it-out type players in Drake and Downey -- and a healthy Kopecky that has improved since the start of the season -- and you've got a recipe for a team that will grind it out when it needs to. It's been a pleasure to watch, for sure. I think the playoff run last season really cemented this club as "Babcock's Team" -- they're 100% into the program, he has his guys playing hard every night and -- most importantly -- their stars are healthy (Hasek notwithstanding). This team is *definitely*, in Babcock's words, "greasy" and difficult to play against.

I noticed that mark during the game Thursday, too. I figured that it was a result of the butt-end he got from Rob Niedermayer on a faceoff during Monday's game. (The one that wasn't called and then seconds later Detroit was called for a minor.)
-
I can't say that I know for a fact that any players have visited here, but I do know that family members have and that a good portion of the local media does, too. Remember, Big Brother is always watching. Also, players DO visit websites like these and do occasionally post. I think the most famous recent example of this was last season when Hockey Alliance affiliate CalgaryPuck.com had defenseman Andrew Ference post on the forums there thanking the Calgary fans for his time there shortly after he was traded to the Bruins in the Brad Stuart trade. It was pretty great stuff, too, as he mentioned how he found out about the trade, how he felt, etc..

Didn't see this posted, but here's the events leading up to Hank getting owned by Draper with the shaving-cream-in-the-face... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3A6-lKvJ__Q

I had the 12th pick in the LGW Buy-In league and I wasn't happy with my team until I got into the middle rounds and on. I'm VERY happy with this team as it stands now: Centers: Olli Jokinen, Brad Richards, Patrice Bergeron, Mike Comrie, Brad Boyes, Derek Roy Left Wing: Alexander Frolov, Rick Nash, Andrew Brunette Right Wing: Petr Sykora, Marian Hossa, Alexei Kovalev Defense: Paul Martin, Scott Niedermayer, Lubomir Visnovsky, Matt Carle, Francois Beauchemin, Philippe Boucher Goaltenders: Evgeni Nabokov, Rick DiPietro
