I'm thinking the same thing. My $$$ is on one game.

A sighting on one of the partitions at the Ponda Center Tuesday night.... (photo credit to I Thought I Saw a Datsyuk 13)

Wings fans know all too well that this is Pronger's M.O. out there, especially playing against this club. He's had monumentous self-imposions in the playoffs against Detroit -- and it appears that 2006 was an exception to the rule regarding him. "Oh, there goes Pronger, blowing his stack again..."

Oh no! The dreaded "I'm smarter than you are!" Pissing Match commences. Like the famous Lincoln quote: "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." BTW, who is this "Lindstrom" you speak of? Looks like you've already started forgetting some of that vast ocean of hockey knowledge already, eh? Oh, the humanity!

You should amend your username to "nobrainjusttheducks". Seems more fitting. Another...

"We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or tire. Neither the sudden shock of battle nor the long-drawn trials of vigilance and exertion will wear us down. Give us the tools and we will finish the job." That pretty much says it for me.
-
Franzen made it a point to finish a couple hard checks on him later in the period. Besides, I think the biggest "standing up" move came when Holmstrom returned in the 3rd no worse for wear and then twisted the dagger with the assist on Filppula's goal. To me, it smacks of "Is that all you've got?" and that's a nice psychological boost.

I will admit that there definitely is something about this team. Not a "funny feeling" or anything... but just a quiet confidence, I guess. At times when this playoff run has had the emotions of fans swinging from one end of the pendulum to the other with every win or loss... I haven't really lost any faith at all. Just confident that when everything is on the line this team will get the job done... Kind of goes back to that Winston Churchill quote I put in the playoff bracket wallpaper for the Conference Finals.
-
And I disagree with that -- Niedermayer was locked in on Holmstrom across the zone, and if he did lay that hit himself it was still from behind and still when Holmstrom was in an unprotected and vulnerable position. Pronger compounded things by going high.

Holmstrom is OUT THERE!
-
During the intermission the VS crew said that Holmstrom was still being seen by Dr. Colucci in the lockerroom -- and that he already had a noticable welt on his forehead to match the gash.
-
Absolutely... but do you really believe that, given the option, the NHL would suspend Pronger over Niedermayer heading into Game 4? Because you can't really suspend both, however nice that'd be. Pronger will come out of this smelling like roses.
-
Suspension clearly coming on this hit. Unfortunate that it'll be Niedermayer (because he got the major and the game) and not Pronger because one was just as guilty as the other.
-
...I think it's safe to say that Detroit was "ready" for the start of tonight's Game 3. Thanks for the concern, Chris.
-
Here's to hoping he doesn't fall on the puck during his first shift Tuesday night and re-breaks the collarbone...
-
Cast yesterday, seeing a specialist today. Looks like he's done for the series.

It's not funny at all, really. It wasn't an on the record statement and just overheard from the showers, apparently, while the rest of the media was taking part in their scrums in the lockerroom. I'm just repeating what he said and not verifying its validity. It's not a stretch at all that Pronger -- or anyone else for that matter -- said that or any number of more "colorful" things, it just doesn't get relayed through normal channels because it's not on the record. Honestly, there's no reason for Brady to lie about it -- it was said on the show in an amusing matter -- and most, if not all, of the Wings' players would probably agree with Pronger, anyway. And Pronger maybe thought "What's said in the shower, stays in the shower."

This is why there should be a required minimum IQ upon registering.

He mentioned it around 8:15am this morning as I was driving in to work. He danced around saying his actual name (and most of the bit was joking around about it), saying it "rhymes with donger", etc., but it's something Pronger said while, um, showering.
