I'm definitely game for this, all depends on the date. (Wife's due on 8/7.)

    Official FA thread

I'd prefer that not all FA threads be lumped into one because all it causes is one big convaluted thread where it's hard for people to find information on a specific player they're trying to keep up on. Thanks.

Why is everyone sold on Luongo?

I think he's a demigod because his first and last name sound cool together.

Detroit Pistons (& NBA) Playoff Thread

Yeah, like the last two times he played Detroit in the playoffs? Question: Are you just anti-Detroit teams when it doesn't concern the Red Wings?

Huh? Over the last few games Prince has been the best of the starting 5.

Looks like RedWingitis has spread to the 'burbs.
  9. New functionality has been added to the forums for Community Supporters: Upload space! The space allotment is tiered according to your CS level, which are as follows: Diamond: 100MB Platinum: 50MB Gold: 25MB Silver: 12.5MB CS members will be allowed (in your "post" screens) to upload photos for use in threads in the Water Cooler and elsewhere. Of course, these amounts are subject to change (they won't go lower, only higher), but I wanted to see how these numbers would work out to start. You also have, under "My Controls", have a summary of files you've uploaded to the server here so you can keep track of them. Regular member accounts have a limited space of 500k.

8,250 posts for Game 6 win

Okay -- that's enough. Time to nip this in the bud. I understand you guys want to get things going for Game 6, but there are better ways to do it than needless excessive post whoring. Locked.

    NFL Draft talk

Motherf@#$@#$ Raiders! I was set on Huff and I knew when Young went No. 3 it was over. Ugh. If Young was sitting there at 7 he'd be a Raider and the Lions would have Huff. I *really* wanted them to trade out of that No. 9 spot with both Hawk and Huff off the board...

    NFL Draft talk

Unbelievable! Man, looks like the Texans want to usurp the Lions' front office as the most inept in football. Wow. You just DO NOT pass on a guy like Bush unless you're trading out of that spot. Could you imagine if Hanson missed that field goal and Detroit was "on the clock" at No. 2 right now? DAMN! You could drop a few spots to No. 4, get AJ Hawk, maybe get another high 2nd rounder (or the other 1st?) and you're looking at your OL help or DB help. DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!

  14. Just wanted to welcome everyone to the NEW LetsGoWings.com Message Forums! As you can see, there have been plenty of changes and updates from the previous release -- I hope you enjoy them. Also, as with any new release there will be some minor bugs to work out and we're no exception. However, we're expecting them all to be relatively minor. There will also be modifications taking place on the forums over the next few days to add features and optomize forum performance. I would also like to thank Trey, LGW's resident technical guru, for all of his hard work in getting the new forums migrated over to the live server after months of development work. It is appreciated! If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to PM me! Thank you!

    Detroit Lions off-season thread

It'd take a TON to move up to No. 2 and if the Saints are trading down I can only see them dropping a few picks (4 or 5) and not all the way to 10. Honestly, the only team I think they could make a deal with would be the Jets or the Broncos, but I don't think the Saints want to drop as far as 15. I'd be VERY happy with Huff... He's been fluxuating a lot lately (virtually all *higher* in the draft -- specifically to SF @ 6) but hopefully he's there. If the Lions, by some miracle, were able to get the No.2 pick I'd say it'd be 70/30 in favor of Williams. Just think, if Hanson had missed that damn field goal against NO we'd be freaking out with anticipation over that No. 2 pick...

Greenway will be gone in the middle of the 1st round. An Iowa LB in the 2nd round to watch for would be Abdul Hodge.

    Exactly... I'm thinking a Shawn Cody-esque move.

Actually, most mocks having him going in the last 10 picks of the first round. Mostly rated behind Ngata and Bunkley, funny enough. He's probably got some of the best raw talent of those guys but there are severe questions of his heart and commitment...

    Detroit Lions off-season thread

Can you imagine the success that Lendale White would have if Pitt was able to get him? Talk about a perfect fit. Can you say 20 TDs??? Wasn't there talk of the Steelers looking at Michael Robinson from PSU in a later round? Looking for the next Randal El already!

    Detroit Lions off-season thread

Yeah, but if the Jets hadn't made the move for Ramsey and still had Pennington on the roster it might be different. I just don't see how they could justify adding Harrington at $2M with those guys on the roster.

    Detroit Lions off-season thread

Very true. Big Baby in the middle stuffing the run and Williams blazing in on the outside keeping the passing game honest. Sounds good to me, especially if Hall rebounds and Edwards builds on last season. If the Lions get that extra 3rd, what about coupling the two to move up back into the 2nd? Sure would leave the team skimping on picks (no 3rd or 4th rounders) but they could, theoretically, land a couple of marquee defensive players. A guy like Stevanovich could still be there in the 5th or so for OL help. Just not enough picks!

Everyone knows that Super Mario's going high, it's just how high: IMO, either 2 or 4. If the Saints believe that Brown is good enough on the OL to not justify adding Brick, then I could see them drafting Mario. (That and Darren Howard is an Eagle now, too.) Plus, with the Jets trading off Abraham, they too have a hole at DE and Williams makes a *ton* of sense there as well. I'd be shocked if Harrington went to the Jets. Cincy, Miami, Baltimore or (less likely) Denver, IMO. Miami the most likely destination.

    Detroit Lions off-season thread

Yeah, you could. Marinelli has long-stated that the war is won in the trenches and the Lions haven't had a consistent pass rush in ages... Is Williams worth Huff/Ryans or Hawk/Gilles to you? Makes you think, if the Lions would have to part with their 2nd this year to move up.

    Detroit Lions off-season thread

Just because the Mel Kipers of the world give the Lions rave draft-day reviews doesn't mean they hit the motherload. (See: Bryant Westbrook, Chris Claiborne and to lesser degrees Joey Harrington and Charles Rogers so far.) Besides, after things have "come to light" during this offseason you can really see that it was likely the fault of the coaching staff that they didn't get the max out of the players they DID draft. Why? Why would you bust the bank when the free agent crop in positions of need are not of a good enough quality to justify what you'd pay them? Why overpay? Why saddle yourself like that with players that are in the twilight of their careers? Hello, Brock Marion?

    Detroit Lions off-season thread

Huh? What good OL were out there? Huchinson? Ashworth? Huchinson's great, but he was too expensive. Ashworth? Solid but more well-known for the Visa commercials. Larry Allen? Old. The Lions need a pass rush, so who was out there that was dominant? Was Abraham worth messing up your drafting abilities by trading more picks away? The Lions are best off not busting the bank of FAs -- there'll be some guys still available and their price tags will go down near/after the draft. I like the Lions chances of having a good draft because this year's crop has shown some depth in areas that the Lions need to address: linebacker, defensive ends (kind of), secondary... You've got Hawk and Huff there high, guys like Greenway, Ryans, Carpenter are there at LB and Hali, Kiwi, etc., could go around where the Lions are in the 2nd.
