  1. Here's what Quincey says: "Going to a great team that has a chance to win a Cup... That's your dream as a little kid growing up. Just looking forward to it... By far that's the biggest plus coming to Detroit, winning... I can't explain how excited I am to be part of that playoff push and be on the ice and matter... Tomorrow's going to be very slow. I just can't wait to get back in Detroit, in the lineup and wearing red and white... Detroit is like a family. That's huge. That's a reason they win... I always wanted to play for Detroit, a team that drafted me and now I get that chance... When they [Red Wings] have good people, they hold onto them, which makes sense... I played with Johnny (Ericsson) in the minors. If that's where I start, that's fine with me." Only current Red Wings he's never played on a team with are Drew Miller and Mike Commodore.

2012 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 27th, 3:00 PM ET

Not that it's extremely significant, and I wouldn't expect a trade with them soon, but a Detroit scout is at the SJS/CBJ game.
  4. And, per Ansar Khan, what Holland said: Ken Holland: “I talked to (Colorado GM) Greg Sherman a few days ago about Quincey and we didn't have a fit. In the last 48 hours, Steve (Yzerman) called me and said he had a deal to get Quincey and asked if we're interested. We got a 26-year-old defenseman who's got experience. He's played 20-plus minutes. He competes. He's coming into his prime. We expect him to be on our team going forward, and he improves our team on the back end this year. We should have never let him go. It worked out great for him. He got an opportunity in L.A .and Colorado."
  5. Well, here's the real question. Would anyone here rather have gotten Kubina? Or is Quincey a better acquisition?
  6. Here's some numbers for everybody now: The Wings will have about $22 million in cap space at the deadline, which would mean they would be able to acquire Ovechkin, Backstrom, and Semin at the deadline and still have cap space to spare.
  7. For reference: the Wings will have a plethora of cap space available at the deadline. They would just need to move contracts.
  8. If I were Holland, I'd rather have Stuart for the playoffs.
  9. His road roommate Kevin Porter denied this. Holland will discuss the trade in detail on Red Wings Live at 7:30 EST on whatever channel the game's on.
