First of all... I actually think his plus/minus isn't as high this year because he had to adjust to having guys like Filppula, Bertuzzi and Franzen as his defensive forwards instead of Datsyuk and Zetterberg. It just seemed as though Datsyuk and Zetterberg didn't spend much time playing on the ice with Lidstrom as they had in the past. I don't know exactly why. It might be because of the whole mission to reduce Nick's ice time. But I think it's a bit of an adjustment if you go from having an elite level defensive forward like Pav and Hank to Fil and Bert, who aren't on the same level.

Good thread. You definitely gotta give respect to Perry's ability to put up points this year. As much as it sucks.

The "Lidstrom is boring" factor has got to be the most irritating.

Some hockey fights are good but if I really wanted to watch fighting then I would just go watch boxing (points to avatar). Sometimes a hockey fight just turns into a hug fest which can turn into a trying to take down fest, etc. But some aren't as bad and can be quite entertaining when both guys can take a punch and give one back.

I bet the NHL would absolutely LOVE if teams played their "playoff killers". They could sell those story lines hard. So every other team should do that. Except for Detroit because I don't want them to lose and I'm not quite sure who their playoff killers are.

Datsyuk for sure. Zetterberg this year has been a 20 game Datsyuk stop gap. Or however long it was.

I don't quite understand the hate on that some sports get. I understand that people have different tastes. For instance, I can't really watch baseball without falling asleep but I don't hate baseball. I can see how some people absolutely love it. With some people, it's as if they just hear the word "baseball" or whatever sport they hate it's as if it sparks some sort of primal reaction. "You see that base-" "f*** BASEBALL!" "...Uh... that baseline data improvement for our April productivity projection... It's awesome!... ..." "Oh... Yeah... Awesome!"
