When it comes to 5 on 5 it seems as if Z and Huds can't connect on a pass to save their lives.

I'd like to see someone on the Wings dish out a big hit or two. That's what they need right now imo.

Enh, I wouldn't count on it from him. I'd be happy if he simply gave the opponent something to worry about. Whether it be a punishing game with his hits, an agitating demeanor, etc. Right now he looks like he's more in the mold of a Dan Cleary and not the Dallas Drake the Wings management said he would be.

If it's something Wings related then I'm sure somebody out there will up it to YT and then somebody here will find it and post it.

Glad he has that 6mil contract.

I don't know Rafi's status but I have very little faith that he will be healthy enough throughout the playoffs even if he somehow manages to make it that far. The injury gods just seem to be after him big time. .

Had to work and so I didn't get to watch the game. So Hudler is on a line with Zetterberg and Cleary? Doesn't look like it as Hudler only played almost 11 minutes.

What a great team bonding experience this day was back in 97. These 2011 Red Wings need something similar. Not saying they should pummel their next opponent's heads into the ice (yeah right...) but something that would unify the team would be quite awesome.

So Mursak is in Detroit; Owens and Smith are injured; Nyquist will play his second game and I believe Johnson will return tonight from his suspension. With what they have available I hope they ice this lineup: Filppula-Emmerton-Tatar Nyquist-Andersson-Tardif Minard-Johnson-Pare Straub-Raedeke-Keefe Janik-Pyett Meech-Amadio Kolosov-Ehrhardt Pearce Here's hoping for a win in Texas!

It'll be interesting to see what he does for next year. Hmm... Let's play a game of pretend and hypotheticals for a second: -Let's say he doesn't want to play another year in the AHL and he doesn't want to play for any other team but the Red Wings. -Obviously, if he wants to continue a career in hockey, he would probably have to play in Europe. So let's say he decides to play in Europe. -Also, let's say he wants to work on things Kenny and staff say he needs to improve if he wants to play in the NHL: Skating, defensive play, showing a more competitive spirit, etc. What would be the best league in Europe for him if he wants to work on these things? KHL? SEL? SM-Liiga?

I was curious and so I checked on some stats. Last year the Wings were 9th in shots against per game. This year they're 14th. In goals against per game last year they were 7th. This year they're 17th. Not sure if one of the defense or goaltending are to blame more than the other.

Is that why they did ask Goldberg to return? Didn't work well enough with Mick? Also, I'm not so sure about Ken Daniels leaving because he's done the national thing with his experience in CBC. I think he's happy in Detroit. Or at least I hope he is.

Wow are they really the toughest team in the West? I've kept my eye on them but not the other teams.

Amadio, Straub and Keefe?
