You'd die of alcohol poisoning. That guy has a smile as if it were a permanent scar. -
I'm actually not sure where you get that impression of Ozzie unless you only read opinions on internet forums. I mean, sure, on LGW, HF and whatever popular Red Wings message boards are out there, you would find a lot of internet tough guys bash Ozzie to no end. But Wings fans really aren't limited to internet savvy people. There are A LOT of Ozzie fans out there who genuinely love the guy and believe in him. A LOT. They just think defending the guy on an internet message board against a bunch of people whose opinions aren't going to change anyways is a complete waste of time. And it is. In my experience, these fans are much older and very established in their lives/careers and don't really have as much youthful impatience as a lot of people who tend to frequent these kinds of boards do.

Well because if you meant that Fil can carry a line offensively then, yeah, I wouldn't be sure which player you were watching. To be fair, when Datsyuk went out in the '09 playoffs, Fil played with Homer and Hossa for quite the period of time and the line was pretty good. Not great but good. And actually, when you think about lineups in terms of whom you can play Huds with, you can actually include Fil on that list. Those two have always had good chemistry. At least, offensively.

Just like Yzerman and as far as we know until Jenna gives birth, Ozzie as well. They're good chromosomes. Nick and Rafi I think are the ones who fired only y chromosomes.

Or every time he begins an answer with "Well..." then you have to take a drink. -
What exactly do you mean by "anchor a line"? And, actually, that's a pretty good point about Filppula. He fits well with almost anybody in any situation.

Not as much as you'd hate to be the quarterback for the Lions. Or the... Pitcher???, I think, for the Tigers. (I don't watch baseball.) Or the point guard for the Pistons. And in that order.

We'll probably have to deal with them no matter what if the Wings get eliminated out of the playoffs before they do. "Zeee Coorrrrrrrreeee!!!"

Second one is if Kenny says "countryman," then you have to take two drinks. -
Yeah I knew a couple people in high school who prefer their middle name over their first and so people would call them by their middle name but whenever something rather "official" came up they always went with their actual first name. If the way I explained that makes any sense. I thought that was weird as hell back then, haha.

Good 'ol Simpsons. Anyhow, I feel like the Jackets will be quite desperate as they're fighting for their playoff lives. The Wings usually seem to have a little mini hangover whenever they beat one of the best teams in the league, in addition to today's holiday. I hope they find a way to pull out the two points. -
I see what you did there. :beerbuddy:

Congrats to the Saleis!!! I think they say that if you have two boys or girls in a row, your third child will very likely be the same sex as the first two. For some reason, I can only think of one of my friends who turned out to be the different sex from the first two born children of her family as she has two older brothers. Anybody here have a similar family makeup where the first two are the same sex while the third born is different?

A cup is a cup. But only for Detroit. Everybody else's championships are undeserved.

He need more simple play. More shoot.
-
Yeah not even. Hudler can score at least 30 in a game.

I guess we should enjoy Rafalski's performance as much as we can. We've seen this version of Rafalski before though. Once he gets too comfortable I'm sure we'll see the turnover prone version. I just hope those future turnovers don't lead to goals against.

I'm not exactly defending Leino here with the following comment. It's actually from a place that just dislikes Jason Williams. On the line of Leino-Filppula-Williams, which was what they started the year with, I'm almost positive Babs demanded that Leino play the role of Cleary/Homer on that line. I'm sure Leino thought, "How does this guy get to be one of the two skill guys on this line over me?" Not saying Leino was justified for not playing hard enough, but if I were Leino I probably wouldn't like seeing a ****** like Williams have a job that I think I should have.
-
Babs would probably say Fil got that goal because he got to the inside, which he still has to do more often.

Haha. (Even though my last post in this thread was totally not helpful). I don't know. Dallas Drake always had a reputation of being quite the crash and bang kind of guy. Modano, fair or unfair, has always had a reputation of struggling and shying away from physical contact. Therefore, it's been a waste.

Ericsson sucks.

So I'm assuming they'll get a makeup call in the 3rd?

Yeah but I don't know I mean... It's... It's Ott... Kidding, kidding.

I was just thinking about this the other day. IMO, they all would be a major pain in the ass for one reason or another. Some of the teams, despite perhaps a relative lack of offensive weapons, just know how to play the Wings. The other teams do have the offensive weapons and also know how to play the Wings. So no matter what, it's going to be tough, imo. So with everything equal, all you really want is the team who requires the less travel distance.
