What if they fined a team's cap space? As in, taking away a team's cap amount, possibly forcing them to drop a player. Pretty extreme but I'm just thinking out loud. Not a completely serious suggestion.

I believe that Filppula we all want to see exists. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll ever see Filppula play like that unless he's the first line center and has no choice but to feel the urgency to dominate the puck and produce points.

Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Kindl-Salei I got nothing against Ericsson. On paper it seems like a good idea. Sucks though that Kronwall and Ericsson are really used to playing the left side and seem to struggle when forced to play on the right.

I hope he stays another year. He deserves a Hobey Baker.

If it's true, then I'm just surprised Kenny said it like, "I don't see him playing permanently for the Detroit Red Wings." I've never heard Kenny completely strip all hope like that. Usually the guys in Wings management say, "Maybe he'll surprise us" or "He'll have to work on his skating" or something in that manner. If anything, I suspect he meant specifically this year, as in 2010-2011, Ilari wouldn't be a regular in the Wings lineup.

Kenny really said that? I don't know. I'm pretty skeptical of that one. And even if he did, are we sure he didn't mean this season?

Whenever I see someone on here talk about the players not hitting enough or not hitting strongly enough or whatever, I always think of this one interview with Jimmy Nill where he mentioned (and if anybody has the exact quote it'd be great) that when they tell the players to be physical, they mean play tough on the puck. Not necessarily hit a guy to do it. but just do whatever to get the puck and hold on to it. Of course, it doesn't mean Franzen isn't partially responsible as most of the time he's usually a wuss when it comes to initiating physical play himself, despite his hits numbers this season.
