At the end of the day, the Wings won a game that will hopefully start to get them out of this slump. They've had no confidence these past few games and last night was a baby step towards rebuilding that confidence. -
It's not the end. It's just not looking like this will be a championship year.

A part of Babs' job is to maximize the effectiveness of his roster. He has to try to get certain players going by pairing them with others who are playing well at the moment. He doesn't want to be happy with just one or two lines. Or at least, that's what I imagine the company line would be. Bla bla bla. -

It's kind of starting to feel like 02-03. They win some games, stay competitive for the 2nd spot in the West but too often you think to yourself, "Does this team have any real hunger at all?"

Most of us on here would absolutely love that. It's never gonna happen though. He's always going to be a player who primarily prefers to use whatever skill and hockey sense he thinks he has as opposed to his size, imo. We should probably redirect our hopes in the ideal characteristics we wanted to see in Ericsson's development towards Brendan Smith's potential.
