Some weeeeird signs/numbers my brother told me about. Wings haven't swept their first round series and won a Stanley Cup since 1955. Although that one makes winning a cup sound as if it happens more often than it does. But in this era, each of the Wings four cup wins began with a 4-2 series win. Spooooky.

The Wings were better prepared for the Coyotes because of their experience with them last year. Based on a comparison of the series results, you could say it's like night (4-3) and day (4-0). The Sharks have a s*** ton more speed and offensive weapons and will obviously force Detroit to come up with a different and better game plan. However, due to their experience last year with the Sharks in addition to the fact that they'll be way more rested this time, perhaps the Wings have learned a lesson or two and will be better prepared for the Sharks should they meet in the 2nd round.

Really makes you think about who will get the next A on their jersey. When Lidstrom and Draper decide its over then perhaps Kronwall and Helm will be the next assistant captains. Even though I think Cleary deserves an A on his jersey I also think it makes a good statement to have a grinder with that kind of status. Hell, give As to everybody!!!

Why not have some photoshop fun with all the potential opponents until we know for sure who the next one is? It could be fun to joke around with a bunch of different teams/cultures. Plus, with Wings fans all over the country I'm sure we got some creative minds in LA, San Jose, Nashville, Anaheim, etc. who can chime in on the different kinds of inside jokes they got going on over there that we can mock a little bit.

How many people in here would welcome Doan to the Wings with open arms after his contract ends if he wanted to play a Dallas Drake kind of role? (That is, assuming that he would actually want to play for the Wings after playing on a team that ended up being the loser in four (?) different playoff series against them.)

That Bertuzzi goal has to be the definition of working hard, doing good things AND getting a few fortuitous bounces. First the Filppula keep in that hit a stantion, which made the puck available for Cleary to maintain possession. Then Bert does the wrap around and it goes off a Coyotes skate.

That sucks so much for the Rangers the way the game ended.
