Im a big fan of Tootoo, would love(ed) to see what an Abby/Helm/Tootoo line could do. Feel he was never allowed to flourish here and confident he could have. Was hoping he would get picked up and go to a team that would utilize him and all of his skillset properly. It was fun watxhing the glass rattle each of his shifts!

Kinda wish Babs and Kenny would take a page from from the San Antonio Spurs and Popovich and rest your players for the playoffs during the season. Specifically im speaking about Cleary. He is a beast come playoffs even when hes injured, so why not spare his knees and the team his regular season limited contributions so he can be healthy comw playoffs. Play him like a goalkeeper, never back to back or 1 game on 2 games off.

The staged fights are harmless...2 willing particiapants that want to have some fun because thats part of their game. Plus isnt this like a homecoming for toots. If you are/were an athlete, you know how much more amped up you were when playing in front of family freinds, girlfriends boyfriwnds. Hell, maybe nhl should have a staged fight instead of a faceoff....winner gets puck first.

If Lucic or Chara jump Kronwall after he levels Bergeron with a perfectly clean hit...they should get 10 games! Fighting has a place and if two dudes want to drop and go in nonstaged manor, let em go. I dont want the game pussified BUT all of hockeys unwritten rules and 'code' are almost as laugjable as baseball.

This was my first thought when I heard about our move East. Watching the East last year and it seemed every great hit was immediately followed by the hitter getting jumped. Boston and Chara were embarrassing the way they did this! I too worry about Kron because at least once, this will happen. I dont think he will fight. If he's smart he wont and if he does he will get hurt and this is where the enforcer argument enters in. With a type of goon, At least the other team knows that their stars are in jeopardy of being run or battered if they jump Kron for a clean hit. I dont know if there is a right or wrong side of this argument... Wait and see and if we need to change our game, theres always next year to start the retooling.

Good post. I forget the year but Maguire from the Blues jumped Yzerman with Probert ON the ice. Point being, if some idiot wants to run a Crosby, Z or Dats....they will, without a second thought. the league knows the Wings are NOT a dirty team so an opposing team understands they will never have to worry about one of their stars getting sticked,boarded or cheapshotted by a Wing. I say f*** the goon...give me some crazy unpredictable dude that nobody really knows what he will do. Thats the kind of player that will make ya think before ya act!
