Why not dump kindl and lashoff, sign niskanen/Boyle/ strallman and promote ouellette/marchenko and have almqvist as our 7th d-man

What's the problem?? If a kid impresses that much to earn a job over a vet then great, that just gives us another good asset to move to improve in other areas

If the defense improves I can definitely see us being contenders. You guys forget that we are also getting back a healthy Stephen Weiss. Guys gonnabe good for around 50 points. I really like the prospect of getting Boyle on a short-term deal. I also believe that alfy will be back and those will be our only two UFA signings. I also really hope that mantha makes this team. Because maybe the fact that alfy was playing with nobody all year. Early in the year for the brief moment when he was playing with pavel and z he was great and it wasn't just because of pav and z (see the first Colorado game in Colorado this year). I want alfy back and I either want him riding shotgun with pav and z or down on the 4th with helm and Abby. That's just my opinion but I really still do believe the guy can contribute a lot for us

He's a free agent. I in no means see this happening but Howard to Winnipeg for big buff, then sign miller would be something I'm on board for. But again I can't see it happening

I think we should go for Boyle. He bridges the cap for the kids to come up and he would be huge for puck movement and the pp. He's also a vet that you know will be highly motivated to win a cup before retiring. I would actually be really intrigued by mantha playing with the eurotwins. I think mantha would absolutely thrive in this role. I expect Weiss to have a really great year and anchor the 2nd line. The sheahan line turns into the third line meaning better matchups for them. 4th line is great with speed and size. Boyle helps the powerplay big time, as well as mantha.

Anyone have interest in Callahan? Probably high asking price (money wise) if he makes it to UFA but he does add stuff that we need and would compliment pav and z nicely

I say buyout franzen, resign Legwand to be that big body that franzen is supposed to be. If alfy wants back then he comes back. If alfy doesn't come back try to sign vanek, moulson, maybe Penner. Up front you'd have Z-datsyuk- alfy/UFA Legwand- Weiss- nyquist Tatar-sheahan- jurco Abby- helm- glenny/miller I would actually love it if we had mantha on that top line. Defense needs so major work. Let Quincey go, move kindl for maybe a prospect or pick, and move lash as well for anything. Bring in Dan Boyle for 2 years at 5.5 mil per or niskenen on a longer term for 5-5.5 per. Top 4 becomes. Kronwall- smith Dekeyser- Boyle/niskanen Your bottom pair obviously has E on it then the last two spots are up for grabs between xo, sproul, and marchenko. I would also consider dangling Howard to bring in either a top pairing d or an elite forward as I do believe mrazek is ready. On a side note about mrazek I love the way the kid plays the puck he's like a 3rd d-man which is huge to break the forecheck. This is something Howard is awful at

I've said this multiple times. This is not just to add offense, cause those to are getting severely exposed in their own end. Someone in the GDT last night said that it feels like kindl and lashoff are out there all the time, it's because they are. They get hemmed in their own zone resulting in really long shifts

Could be very good news. Extra excitement and joy in kronner and pavs lives, may play really inspired hockey tomorrow. Also hank back would be massive. Would mean that we have the better top line and the joe would be so electric and I'm sure the guys would have an extra pep in their step having their leader hank back!!

Well I remember right when he was scheduled to have the surgery, I believe it was holland who said that he could be back as early as the last few games of the regular season, so I'm not really sure how early this really is. I always believed that he would be back in round one and thought aiming for round 2 was a smoke screen
