I honestly think franzen plays better with helm because when helm is on the ice the game is so much faster and such up tempo that it forces him to move his feet and get engaged in the game.

I agree with most your post but I disagree with not being just one move away from a cup contender. If Weiss and mule show up they are huge X factors. Z-pav-Bert could be the best line in hockey, mule-Weiss-alfy could be a very good 2nd line, Tatar-helm-nyquist could be the best third line in hockey, and we can have a very solid 4th line. As far as defense goes I do believe we need a top 4 defensemen. But we do have the assets to pull off a deal weather it's a solid vet or even a top 2 d-man. We got good prospects, we can move smith, Quincey, and others. Maybe a team like buffalo would take on a couple of our expiring contracts, tootoo,eaves,Sammy, Quincey, along with smith for a guy like erhoff.

Get Weiss back, call up nyquist and go with.. Z-d-Bert, nyquist-Weiss-alfy, mule-helm-Tatar, Abby- Anderson- miller. This would be a good group of forwards. if Kenny and babs heads weren't so far up there a** maybe we would see it.

I saw a play tonight where cleary was on the rush and alfy was far wing with nobody in site and cleary dumped it on net. How does an NHL hockey player with time not see that. Hell I would have seen that an. Alfy would have gotten a hell of a chance on that play

Okay. But if tootoo and eaves are waived and unclaimed and nyquist is brought up. With smith and big E becoming healthy and almqvist being sent back down would we be cap compliant while still having nyquist up?

Why don't they just waive tootoo and eaves and bring up nyquist? If they are claimed then great. If not then we still save money on the cap as nyquist cap number is like 950K or so. I don't understand why this hasn't already been done
