If he is going to be her he needs to play in the top 6 with either Pav or Z. Im tired of having Pav and Z playing with older players with suspect top 6 ability. If Huds is here start the season with him playing with Z and Clears and have Pav with Fil and Franzen. If Hudler still struggles then something needs to be done. But we need to have 2 really skilled dominant lines. I may get flamed for this post, but I do honestly believe Huds has the ability to be a gamebreaker (especially if he worked on his skating, and you know actually worked hard). But I honestly do believe he would work hard playing with skilled guys like Z and Clears
-
Vernon Fiddler
-
Its not like any of those guys would be traded anyways
-
If only he would work on his skting and actually work hard. Cause man Hudler has ALOT of talent
-
Knowing Philly can't sign Leino do you think they would take his rights for Hudler on draft day?
-
I thought he was a winger? Sorry not getting Leino for 800K thats for sure. Although I would take that team in a heart beat
-
Yes. He adds speed, size, grit and some scoring touch. Would be a good pickup
-
I will take Leino right now! Play him with Pav or Z and watch them work magic
-
would anybody be interested in Vernon Fiddler?
-
Fil will get at least 70 points if he is healthy and plays with Pav all next year
-
I actually really agree with this post. Bert isn't so bad as he still posseses good skils and shows he can skate at times i just feel Homer is really hurting this lineup because he hurts what the top line wants to do, but also hurts what third and 4th lines want to do. We need a big physical 3rd line center that has decent offense, and is a good shutdown man. We need a guy like Manny Malholtra- Not sure who plays like him that is available. Any suggestions?
-
We would have a lot of cap space if we had that lineup
-
Yes i like wisniewski very mobile, ver physically and i like some of the offense he brings. He is a great #3 or #4 d-man
-
Really depends what you getting back? But this will never happen like 0% chance it is just not how the wings operate
-
Where else does he play in this lineup?
-
Trade Hudler for a reliable somewhat cheap third line center that has exellent faceoff skills, is big, physical, and can play a grind it out defensive game. (Someone similar to malholtra). Run your forward lines as such.. Fil- Dats- Homer Franzen- Z- Clears Abby- (aquired center here)- Bert Mursak-Helm-Eaves Draper or Miller

I've always felt like Z should be captain, but honestly not anymore Pav deserves it 100% he leads this team game in and game out. Fil deserves an A as well and Helm deserves one in the future. Anyways I hope this really doesnt matter cause l hope lids plays at least 1 more season (Hoping he plays till he's 50)
-
I will cry if it is his last game. He cannot go out like that he deserves to go out winning. Hey Babs advice for next year. Play Fil with Pav all season and Fil will absolutely light it
-
Honestly can say this hurts more than 09 game 7 vs s***sburg
-
+1. Either that or go Flip/Dats/Franzen followed by Huds/Z/Cleary. Lets just play a shootout type style so we atleast make the games entertaining and allow are players to play loose and have some fun
-
I dont care about saving players energy anymore we need Lids, Dats, and Z on the PK. Are PK is terrible, but we fail to put on the best all around d-man in the league as well as the top 2 defensive forwards in the league. This is absolutely ludicrous. And for f*** sakes why dont we go Flip-Dats-Mule, Cleary-Z-Huds. Screw defense and depth lets just try and score at will with our top 2 lines. Huds Clears and Z were out one shift together (After Huds penalty) and they completely dominated. Why on earth babs loves to keep Huds and Fil from playing with our best players is beyond me. They are players that need to play with good players. And when they do play with good plays they light it up and actually help improve they play of the players (that sounds weird but its true) Flip and Dats played out of their mind in game 2 vs Pheonix and Huds has played his best hockey with both Dats and Z this season. so Babs wake up we have nothing to lose lets at least play entertaining hockey and go down swinging! Sorry for RANT

Are you ki9dding me? Did you not watch overtime? The wings just find a way to lose 1 goal games. They truely deserve better -
IMO it shouldn't really matter who is playing center and who is playing wing other than faceoffs ( which Pav should be doing). Now here me out. Being a center iceman should only matter in the defensive zone and quite frankly whoever is the 3rd man high in the o-zone or first man back needs to be the one playing down low in the d-zone ( the centermans responsiblity). So weather it be Dats or Huds or Cleary whoever is the first man back should be taking over the centermans responsibilities. So I personally don't like or even understand why people put so much thought, attention, or worry into who is playing center or who is playing wing as players should all be moving (swing) off the boards towards the boards in the neutral zone and should be buzzing all over in the o- zone. Franzen- Z-Bert line should light it up!!! But Huds with dats or even Z is scary and trust me it would be a thorn in the side of the sharks

That first line was regards to recent experience this year as Huds and Datsyuk were absolutely dynamic while on a line with Cleary. I agree that Huds was getting knocked off the puck in game 2, but i did not feel that way about him in game 1 or the entire pheonix series. People get mad at Huds a lot on these forums (sometimes I can't blame them) but they fail to see the good sides of Huds. Yes he had one bad game and it happened to be a really bad game, but up until that point he was playing some of his best hockey of the season. I just feel that it would be a huge mistake to take him out of the lineup as we know with Huds he can strike at any moment with a goal, or he can make a slick pass for a goal. And with a team who are struggling to score goals I feel taking out Hudler would be the wrong move and ultimately hurt are scoring depth, as well as our powerplay depth.
