These are getting out of control!!!

Agree. I'm no Scott Walker fan by any means, but it looked like Aaron was manning up and then just stopped. Tough call though either way. esteef

They're right. No consistent physical game, whether in front of the net or just in general. Take away the hit on Hudler and what have they really shown? esteef

2000! Go Wings!

This is possible but I highly doubt it's "9 times out of 10". I'm sure the Ducks could find a better skating puck handler in their organization that they could ice in the playoffs against the best team in the league (Sharks) than George Parros. Parros was in the lineup to play his game, his tough enforcer type game, and not because of a depth issue for Anaheim. Will Parros play in every series like that, who knows? But he, (and players like him), doesn't just hang up his skates because the regular season is over like some here would have you believe. Enforcers/fighters can and do thrive in the playoffs just like the regular season. Some teams are more successful in using their beef than others but they are used just the same. Again, not saying using players like Parros is the end all be all, but they are tools that are still used in today's playoffs, in today's game. esteef

Dude, I wasn't even talking to you to begin with, and second, what I'm pointing out is that fighters get playoff time, as grotesque and horrific as they are, they still are used in the playoffs with success. How much actual time is irrelevant. What is relevant is that the coaching staff thought enough of their style of play, as useless as it is, to suit them up in the playoffs. I'm merely pointing out those examples where fighters are used and the team has success (see Hordichuk's goal last Van game), because "fighters don't play in the playoffs/there's no fighting in the playoffs" are statements often regurgitated around here with regard to the Wings using a player such as Downey in the playoffs. That's it. But please feel free to dazzle me with some more numbers. esteef

Yay! More stats! So what you're saying is that fighters/enforcers ARE playing in the playoffs, ergo the "real' season. Thanks. esteef

FYI, the Wings are not skating circles around Anaheim right now, and neither did San Jose. The entire game is not played on the rush. esteef

We're talking about 2007 right now? But with regard to your comment, this is why they SHOULD have Parros in right now, to do some damage against these non-Rafalski caliber d-men. esteef
