Dats, Z, Franzen and Hossa are Lazy and they Suck! edit: Forgot Hossa's lazy ass!
-
No s***! That's the first thing he should say when (if) he goes back into the dressing room, "You're Welcome for getting the media off of your sucky asses for a week!" esteef
-
Honestly, I think Kopecky has looked pretty damn good lately. He could hit a little more but he IS hitting, I thought he looked good on the top line with Dats and Hossa (who wouldn't right?), he had some good tips and redirects on the puck a la Homer, as well as some good passing abilities. He's coming around I think but he needs to drop the gloves a few times. He used to do it and it just disappeared. Still, as good as he's looked lately, he's still the most expendible forward so far. esteef

Who's the veteran to step up and control him? Modano?
-
Delicious! Put that in a f***in' commercial NHL!!!
-
Absolutely, don't make a mistake in the Dallas dressing room or they'll all skewer you behind your back in the media. f*** the Stars! I still hate Modano for not jumping on TooToo after he suckered Robidas. I DIDN"T FORGET MIKE YOU SPINELESS LITTLE *****! I feel better now. Anyway, if anyone should be defending Avery in the Dallas camp it should at least be Hull. I mean he brought him there for this exact reason, and how many stupid things did Hullie say in HIS career? Hull should be telling the planet to "lighten up Francis!" esteef

His heads-up pass to Huds for the first goal? In fact, the Kopecky-Hudler-Flipper line looked good all night IMO. Hands of stone? C'mon man. He ain't THAT bad. esteef

HOT. :carrot:
-
The Goat Line all score a point! Hudler 2 G Kopecky 1 A Maltby 1 A Lilja 1 A Lebda 1 A Honorable mention: Sammy with 1 blocked shot and 2 hits. Cheers! esteef
-
This is what I don't get, he's doing exactly what Hullie is paying him to do. Be non-"vanilla". esteef
-
Dats and Malts with some big hits! Hudler and Kopecky looking great! Lilly gets an assist!!!!! AAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Melrose being fired 16 games into the season is the only thing that's a joke. Hopefully he'll just take every opportunity to rip the Lightning on tv now instead of the Wings. Cheers to Barry! esteef

Exactly. I found this part the most interesting though: "So, you can insult an opponent's girlfriend in the lowest possible terms on the ice within earshot of the most expensive seats where little Johnny is sitting with his dad, but if little Johnny hears something nasty while watching "SportsCenter," that's a different universe entirely." What's the difference? The "fan" is hearing the language in both cases. Filth is OK as long as it's in person? esteef

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/stor...&id=3741997 "Former Tampa Bay Lightning coach John Tortorella, now an analyst on TSN of Canada, called Avery's comments "ridiculous" and said the NHL should "send him home," but Tortorella was renowned for a wide variety of verbal outbursts during his NHL career. Just last season, he told a New York columnist to "get the f--- out of here" in a postgame scrum in an incident televised everywhere. Funny, I can't remember the suspension. Or the apology. So, you can insult an opponent's girlfriend in the lowest possible terms on the ice within earshot of the most expensive seats where little Johnny is sitting with his dad, but if little Johnny hears something nasty while watching "SportsCenter," that's a different universe entirely. Still, up here in the Great White North, "Hockey Night in Canada" star Don Cherry has a long history of making unflattering comments toward French Canadians and Europeans of various ancestry, but no one from NHL headquarters has ever laid a hand on him." Thoughts? esteef

Never gets old! Cheers! esteef

I guess there's nothing left for us to do but vote him into the All Star Game! Get your scripts ready! esteef!

Those things you mentioned have already been done is my point and hockey is still where it is in US ratings. I don't like prima donna players either, but I'm not naive enough to believe they don't put butts in seats and eyes to the tv set. Like it or not, that kind of uncomfortable ugliness sells tickets. If the NHL wants to keep its gentlemanly, every player respects each other, talk boring like a robot who can barely speak english during interviews type league, that's great but it will never stack up against the other more controversial/flashy leagues in the US as far as popularity and ratings go. esteef

Lilja kicks Hordichuk's ass! I'm calling it right now! esteef
-
have any of you ever written to NHL players?
esteef replied to Holmstrom96Screens's topic in General
Dear Mr. Pronger, Tell your Mom to stop calling me! Your friend, esteef -
"It was a bad attempt to build excitement for the game" Bingo. Suspension = overboard. esteef
-
Avery is hot.
-
Sounds great! Wait,...where on the list is the NHL in terms of popularity in the US again? Oh yeah, the bottom. Next! esteef

I don't disagree, but it will never take the place of fighting. Taking runs at fighters is gonna get you a Bertuzzi-like incident where someone's gonna pound Kronner after a hit cause you KNOW he ain't droppin' the gloves. And it ain't like the Wings will have someone on the ice to help him out right? In fact, I'm surprised it hasn't already happened because we all know Kronner's hits haven't all been squeaky clean. esteef BTW, I love your avatar! You probably didn't even have to reshape his head at all did you?!
