Mule misses net. Mule misses net. Mule misses net..... esteef

Bench Cleary. esteef

He's trying to turn every line into Dats-Homer-Z by inserting a sucky 3rd/4th liner on every line. Sometimes 2 suckies! esteef

Abby got out of the way? We'll take it. esteef

^ Actually not a bad idea, make it any player not just a d-man (preferably a faster skater to catch up quicker), and instead of when the puck is touched make it when the ref blows the whistle (in other words they both start from standing still). More like a breakaway, which is really what the spirit of it is supposed to emulate IMO. esteef

The game hasn't even started yet and Gus is off the 2nd line! esteef

So what's the difference between Mule - Dats - Tatar and Mule - Dats - Gus? Where is all the big grinding defensive play that kept Cleary and Abby with Dats all those games instead of switching one with Tatar that suddenly isn't necessary? Babcock is full of s***. esteef

Babs: " ....the players decide who plays, not me...."

So out of 12 games they won 6, with 3 of them coming against the Wings and that's supposed make us feel better? Context indeed. The Wings should've stomped the Jackets, especially with some of their better players out. The scores mean squat, it's the WIN that counts. esteef -
Lines for tonight: Flip - Z - Brunner, Mule - Dats - Gus, Cleary - Abby - Andersson, Miller - Em-Dog - Tootoo. "Hey Tatar, f*** You!" --Mike Babcock. esteef

Defensively responsible = back to back losses to the divisional bottom feeder with some of their better players out of the lineup. Everyone in the world can see Tatar should be on the top lines instead of these "defensive" dips***s who can't handle a pass and go straight to the corners with the puck. Babs can spin this in the media all he wants but nobody's buying it. esteef -
Yes, because coming almost to a complete stop and pump faking 4 times before shooting is sooooo hard to do. NOT! esteef
-
Another ridiculously lame spin-o-rama shootout goal where the player completely stopped and won the game in the Canucks/Blue Jackets game. Boooooooo! esteef

It's late and to the head. Nothing "good" about that. Perry's got a douchebag rep too. Thumbs down. esteef

Cute numbers, but do they show how many of those points came when he actually played the point? They don't. Ian White, who just came back from a 6 game benching for sucking, also played the PP point a lot, with Lidstrom in fact. Is that because he's awesome or because he was right handed? How about Hudler? Did he have a glass shattering shot and supreme defensive prowess, or was he merely right handed on a team without a lot of those? Brunner, another righty, and a virtual unknown commodity on the PP point, but he found himself there this year. I wonder why? If Sammy was left handed he would never have played the point on the PP. Simple as that. But please, dazzle me with more useless numbers from your ass. esteef Huff and puff all you want, if Sammy were a lefty, he wouldn't have seen PP point time. By the way, you should say "stupid" more, it's entertaining. esteef
-
Not all those "points" are from him playing the PP point, in fact few of them probably are. But I'm sure you already knew that right? He's a right handed shot, that's it. When we were short on the backend he went to the point, when we were not, he didn't. Simple as that. esteef
-
He sucked on the PP point when he was here before. Are we to assume he's gotten better at it with age and less ice time due to injury? Maybe some here haven't watched Red Wings hockey long enough? esteef

So Cleary-Datsyuk-Abby not getting scored on EVERY shift = playing good now? esteef -
Now defense is the most important thing for our top 2 lines? I thought scoring came first? Abby is so good defensively he DOES NOT play on the PK, so I don't know where Babs is pulling this "he's better defensively" crap from. And do we really have these defensive line matching worries against teams like Columbus? Seriously? Chicago I can see but the Blue Jackets? Come now. Putting Nyquist immediately on one of the top 2 lines, while a good idea, is a total slap in the face to Tatar who proved he should've been moved up over Cleary and Abby many games ago. Ian White plays like crap and is benched for 6 six games, Cleary plays like crap for weeks and gets moved up from the 2nd to the 1st line? Our prospects are going to start going the way of free agents in that Detroit is losing its luster for a potential destination. The "overripening" strategy is making less sense these days with the scrubs we continue to sign and ice over proven talent. esteef

Dats line hemmed in the entire shift by Columbus's 4th line. Let that sink in a little bit. esteef
