Yeah right, officiating has NO bearing on a game at all. What's in question here is the actual calls themselves, not the resulting PPs and PKs afterwards. Who gives a s*** if you've got a good PK if the call was bulls*** from the start. It'll still wear your team down killing off ridiculous calls all game long, as well as lose fans because they think the game is a joke. Actually have a point instead of just bitching about other board members' topics all the time. esteef

Off topic, but I remember Bob McKenzie being the biggest proponent for getting the "sending a message late in a losing effort" out of the game of hockey, but then didn't really hammer Calgary when they did it to us in Game 5. Hmmm...guess it's just playoff hockey. esteef

Canucks crowd just like Calgary's, always begging for calls. And they usually get them. I agree with the call on Hansen, you can challenge the goaltender with the puck, but you can't just stampede him. What a dumbass. Then he's all, "What? What did I do? He HAD the puck." Clown. esteef

Agree. They did that to basically every hit in the series, especially Datsyuk's. Dats had quite a few good hits as well as absorbed quite a few while dishing out some of his own (much like the Maltby hit), but the Canadian announcers are all "Datsyuk just got smoked!" or "Datsuk is pounded into the boards!" What a load. esteef

Agree. Just because we won doesn't make the s***ty officiating disappear. It was terrible the entire series as well as other series' I've been watching thus far. Even the announcers were ripping the calls last night so it's not just us "griping". esteef

I agree, especially in the last three games. It will no doubt be overlooked because we won but it was just bulls***. esteef

Top three for me: Cleary = obvious, checks, skates hard, reads plays, digs in corners, involved in all the scrums, took hard checks and came back for more, etc, etc. Franzen = Big banger, goal scorer, nifty passer, etc. Lilja = Logged mucho minutes and didn't give up anything atrocious, most improved player on the team IMO. Nice job by all, but these three really stand out and don't usually get the big media attention. Honorable mention = Chelios (how f***in' old is he?) esteef

Lilly tonight: 1 SOG, 4 blocked shots, 8 hits and played over 29 minutes! I personally saw him break up a couple of scoring chances tonight. Way to go big boy! esteef
