Yeah, I just saw the replay on that play where Neil had already been penalized and was waiting to go to the box which showed Mair and Neil face to face, so if Neil challenged him before that, I didn't see it. Either way, Neil won the fight, there's no question about that.

Who said it would? This stupid rebuttal always comes out when people call for toughness. Everyone knows it won't "prevent" it, but it will give the team the ability to respond when someone head hunts Zetts or Dats in the playoffs. Hell, someone took a run at Zetts last night in the Preds game and just missed. Who would've done something about it had he been layed out like Drury? Having a tough guy prevents a lot more cheap s*** from happening than would happen without one. A lot of smaller non-fighters take more liberties when they know there's no one there to stop them. Agree, and the earlier comment about Mair not wanting any part of Neil's challenge was bulls*** too. Neil ran him and had a penalty called against him, of course Mair isn't going to screw up his team's powerplay by doing somethin' stupid like taking a swing at Neil after the whistle. Neil didn't even hit Mair that hard to begin with, and Mair did get all up in Neil's face afterwards waiting for Neil to throw something. Don't know if it's been mentioned (and I'm not going to read 34 pages to find out!), but I don't really feel that bad about the loss last night. With a couple of injuries, a backup goalie and without making our "big" trade yet, we still hung in there and got a point. Granted, I didn't see Hordichuk all night (probably saved for tonight's game against Shelley), or Hartnell who is out with a broken foot, and those two guys would've at least been banging us more but still... esteef

I disagree with Chick Parm at the end of the clip about the hit looking like the hit on Drury the night before. It's nothing like it other than being high. Lupul sees a Wing at the blue line which is why he dishes the puck off to the side to skate past him, not expecting to get hit, but knowing it's possible. In fact, it looks like he sees it at the last second and tries to get his arms up. Drury had no idea it was coming. just sayin'...

What kind of s***ty game calling was that? The best hit of the game and you wouldn't even know it if you were just listening to the broadcast. I watched the same thing and I think his point was that Murray was stupid in putting his stars out there IMMEDIATELY after all this went down. Maybe should've put his third or fourth line out until he was sure things had calmed down. That's all... Oh and the hit on Drury was high and cheap. Neil knows it, and he probably wasn't surprised at all by Buffalo's reaction. esteef

Wings need to bring the same intensity they had last night for this game. Full marks to Kronner for bringing the body last night on more than one occasion.
