Agree on Dats, that was cool that he stood up for himself but let's not make that a habit. Abs and Big E will certainly have their hands full with the guys Anaheim can ice: Chipchura, Getzlaf, Ruutu, Winchester, Parros, Perry, Ryan, Beauchemin, Brookbank, Sbisa, Sutton. (and I'm not even counting Andreas "Pain Train" Lilja!) Good Luck Boys! esteef

If Holland is so good at what he does, he should be able to properly outfit the team in the offseason AND be able to make a deadline move when necessary. esteef

Not the players themselves necessarily, just the money spent on guys that haven't really pulled their weight when now we arguably have some needs and can't fulfill them. (I agree though that Hudler has looked better lately but who doesn't on a line with Dats and Cleary?). I guess I would feel better about Holland saying the roster is fine if he had money to spend and didn't than him saying it when he's basically broke. esteef

Nobody said it was a must except you? Maybe if we weren't right up against the cap every trade deadline we could make some good moves to help things like our D and backup goalie situations when they're needed. Instead we load up with Modano's and Hudlers to the point that we HAVE to stay pat every year because we have no money to spend. That's what frustrates folks I think. esteef

Yep, and they can't even use the "league's best player is in those games so we want to showcase him" excuse. Clearly for the NHL it's all Pens all the time. Don't worry though man, one of the Crosby poodles will be along in a second to call you a tin foil hat wearer. esteef

How come every trade deadline when someone suggests a player for the Wings all the Holland poodles come out and yap about how "successful" the team's been? Like adding a veteran Dman or goalie would totally disrupt everything and keep them from going deeper in the playoffs or possibly even winning the Cup. The team is not perfect and neither is Holland, we don't have to hear his resume everytime a trade idea pops up. esteef -
