With how long he is taking to make up his mind I am starting to think he might go. We need to keep him.
-
If we could get him cheap I'd do it but if it is more then like 2-2.5 million I wouldn't bother with him at all.
-
I'd go for that deal in a minute. Heck I'd settle with Carter.
-
Decent team expect I can't see Kenny Boy offering Lids only $3 Million to stay. Even though he should take a cut I think. Also we need to move Hudler but no one wants him.
-
He'll be a wing for life but I could see it being a $4 Million hit on average instead.
-
With Bourque the GM actually traded him to the Avs instead of Philly because he thought the Avs had the best chance to win.

I don't like the idea of Wings moving to the East for personal reasons. I like the late games this means I can get my Homework done before I listen to them play.

Ken Holland: Open to trade to replace Rafalski
IllinoisRedWingsFan replied to wingsownnhl43's topic in General
Couple of thoughts 1. Shea Weber WILL NOT come to Detroit. He will stay in Nashville because if they don't Nashville's franchise will be drastically changed forever I think and not in a good way. 2. IF the Wings trade for Brian Campbell Trade that means Kenny Boy should be fired. That would be an awful move. I know several Hawks fans that went Campbell gone and they even admitted that any GM stupid enough to trade for him needs to go. 3. I would LOVE to see Ken sign Bieksa or Wisnieski. -
I personally think while Smith has excellent potential he needs to be in GR for another year. However if needed they could call him up for short times thru out the year.

Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons
IllinoisRedWingsFan replied to MacK_Attack's topic in General
Thanks for the memories Raffy! Enjoy Retirement. -
It is sad losing someone that young. I lost a friend my senior year of high school who died in a car accident (Thank God he was the only one in there) yes it is sad but in both cases they did something stupid...

WOW! Sad days ahead. I remember when Stevie, Darren, Shannahan and Federov retired and that was a sad day. Deja vu all over again.

Brad McCrimmon will not return for 2011/2012

This reminds of what one of my professors said once "I never saw Blackhawks worn around campus until they started winning." -

Interesting article about possible changes

I hope Draper hangs it up as much as I like him we need to get younger. -
I figured with Konopka he could bring the toughness element to a team that needs it. Regarding Tanguay I deliberated this one long and hard between him and Erik Cole but part of it had to with the fact that I know Ehrhoff is going to be expensive so I figured the less money we spent for a second line Forward the more we could spend on Erhoff. Just my thinking but bringing in a Konopka type is key.

Which conference would you rather have the Wings in?
IllinoisRedWingsFan replied to weGotTheCup89's topic in General
The West. Here's why I am a College Student and I like the late games because then I can get my homework done and listen to them once I am finished or on the weekends watch them at the bars assuming the Hawks aren't playing. Assuming Atlanta moves I think either Columbus or Nashville makes the move. Most likely the former. The Wings bring too much $$$ to the table in the West. -
I told myself I wasn't going to do this but after my car getting egged today I needed an escape from reality. This is fluid obviously and using the estimated Cap Increase. There is a $3 Million Dollar cushion just in case something were to happen e.g. Howard gets hurt, Lidstrom wants $6 Million etc. CAPGEEK.COM CAP CALCULATOR FORWARDS Tomas Holmstrom ($1.875m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) Alex Tanguay ($1.900m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Johan Franzen ($3.954m) Daniel Cleary ($2.800m) / Darren Helm ($0.912m) / Todd Bertuzzi ($1.937m) Zenon Konopka ($0.680m) / Justin Abdelkader ($0.787m) / Patrick Eaves ($0.900m) / / Jan Mursak ($0.550m) DEFENSEMEN Nicklas Lidstrom ($5.200m) / Brian Rafalski ($6.000m) Niklas Kronwall ($3.000m) / Brad Stuart ($3.750m) Christian Ehrhoff ($3.750m) / Anton Babchuk ($1.600m) Jakub Kindl ($0.883m) GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($2.250m) / Joey MacDonald ($0.650m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $62,200,000; CAP PAYROLL: $59,163,711; BONUSES: $0 CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $3,036,289

NO way! We need to get younger fast. The only older guy I'd consider this year is Tanguy.

Notable Restricted/Unrestricted Free Agents in 2011
IllinoisRedWingsFan replied to The Russian Rocket's topic in General
I can't see the Red Wings signing Weber especially with losing all those draft picks. As much as I'd love to have Weber it simply isn't happening. I would like to see us get Alex Tanguy. -
As I told a friend I go to school with "I am now a Lighting Bandwagon fan since Stevie Yzerman is the GM There."
-
I would say Columbus or Nashville would switch personally if you base it on logic. Detroit has way too much of a following in the West.

WCSF Game 7 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Sharks 3
IllinoisRedWingsFan replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Agreed but I think Weber will return to Nashville to be honest. -
I would keep Fippula without a doubt and hopes he can start preforming to his potential. Wisniewski I like him and I think we need a fresh set of legs under him. My thoughts with Lindstrom. If he wants to come back let him...
