Montoya was good at U of M, enjoyed watching him on games that were televised. However, I believe he was slightly overhyped from his performace at the world championships his draft year, and maybe was drafted a little high.

He does have skill, however it's widely accepted that he's one of the slowest players in the NHL. His last year in Toronto, he did score a lot of points but he took a lot of penalities becasue he couldn't keep up in the newer NHL. I know i'm just recycling knowledge but if he had good enough foot speed a team would have already sigend him.

I know, Maroth continued to look the devil in the eye even when the world was being blown up all around him. I do hope he can be a starter somewhere.

Lidstrom may not throw hip checks but if your in front of his net while Hasek is trying to cover a puck he'll give you a nice cross check. Homstrom will stand in front of a net and get three sticks in unprotected areas of his back. Clearly, Zetterberg and Franzen will go through a wall to score. After being called too soft for the playoffs they were the last 4 teams out of 31 or so to be left standing. I wouldn't call them lady byng canidate also-rans.

Todd Jones needs to be released or not be allowed to close a game. I'm through with his blown saves, 70's porn mustache, and loading people on base. People will say he's good because he forces a lot of pop up balls but I'd rather have a closer who throws strikes because you cant play around with contact attracting pitches. Whose our closer in toledo? I'd feel safer with him on the mound.

It's not like Emrey is coming out of nowhere. He's always been one of the top goaltending prospects.
