Hey SANKAR!!! So Since the Coyotes tanked (oh they didnt?) what do you have to say know??? Just curious..
-
That was typed wrong but the context of why I talked about Brodeur hopefully made it clear. Equipment sizes of goalies making it easier to score or easier to stop was the point of that comment. Im glad you pointed it out though
-
Well PHX is up 2-0 right now. Sankar is one of the worst "fans" to walk the earth. I call persistant troll on him
-
Since it seems so many dont want a loser getting a point how bout this earth shaker.. 2 points- Winner 0 points- Loser You can have 4-4, 3-3, 2-2, SO and a skydiving competition for the win but whoever wins gets the whole enchilada.
-
LOL I actually like the SO personally, I would like your idea of 4-4, 3-3 THEN SO. Shoot out would be last resort. As far as how weird the points would look, Who gives two s***s? The league is maintaining a 2 point max to keep it comparable to past seasons for statistical reasons. I know I love cheering for the guy that breaks a new scoring record or a goalie that has the most stops but in reality is it really comparable between now and 1930,40,50 or even 1990? Even a simple rule change like two line pass changes the full dynamic of the game and how players stats will be affected. For example; How many scorers today would make Gretzky look down right average if they still had the same sized goal? How bout Broddy and how big his pads used to be? There is very little correlation although people like to think so. Thats why from time to time you will hear a stat that include AFTER THE LOCKOUT. Points would be no different. So what if we have the dominate teams hitting 130 points instead of 110? I could only imagine the excitement in seeing a team in the gutter put a 30 point L10 together and get right back in the tick of things. THIS^^^ Also to comment about those that want a 2-1-none score, who do you want to reward? If you take a point from a winner then lesser teams have a bettter opportunity of catching up. I am of the opinion that you always reward winning and just reward it less if you dont win as good. Regardless of how points are distributed, there should be an equal amount of points at the end of the season that there was available at the start. If a season consisted of winners and losers with 2 going to the winner and none to the loser we should have 4920 points available. Todays system actually allows for 7380 points to be distributed by the end of the season if every game went to OT. On the flip side a 2-1-0 would potentially leave the league with 2460 for the season. Im not a fan of that either. You end up with the Phantom point again, and thats no better for play. More or less points shouldnt appear or disappear, just be moved around accordingly.

I know we've won two games but man were they good ones. This is a thread of Pre-Playoff relief now that we have most of our guys back and we are playing like the team we know and love. Repaired, dialed in and finally tearing it up.. our Boys are back in town!! GO WINGS!!
-
Up till tonight they were.. Yes our PP needs a firecracker up its ass BTW Would you like to tell me what constitutes a good game by the Wings? According to quite a few it would require a new team, finishing the season with 164 points, 0 GAA and +95 for every player on the team We played a full 65 minute game against a very big shutdown team and came away the victor. Cant ask for much more than that.
-
Then you need a new TV... I guess winning 7-2 would have been a bit more fulfilling, we were playing against the best team in the league. This team has the best D in the league. Also has one of the best PP and PK in the league. A goalie with a 1.48 GAA Oh who just so happened to have 3 consecutive shutouts, and rolling on well over 200 scoreless minutes in net. Yeah,we totally blew it, running around like a bunch of high school kids.
-
WOOT!!!! WHAT A WIN!!!!! If the Wings didnt look like the Wings we love tonight, you need a new TV. Save for the breakdown during that major we played at the level that wins playoff games. We ground it out, muscled up as best we could and equaled the performance of the Blues to take the win. Gotta ask, who else was having a heart attack and a mental breakdown during the game? That was Playoff hockey a few days early
-
Its really hard to tell around here right now.. Seems like more "fans" dislike the team than stand behind them, I was tricked in the sarcasm only because the norm is to complain about everything that makes the team great. I shouldve check the post count before commenting but like I said it seems like everyone is ready to jump ship before it sprung a leak.
-
Are you a Fkn Sharks fan?? Gut the Team? Get rid of D? Whoever +'d your post is an idiot. Lets break this down. Howie got hurt for 2 months ish and all of a sudden hes worthless? Lets just forget that he singlehandedly saved the team from missing the playoffs, led the league in wins this season and is considered one of the best goalies in the league.... Yep Howie, GONE!! Pavs, Voted best two way player by OTHER PLAYERS, is a perpetual highlight reel, makes every player on the ice better when hes out there... NIET!!!!! I dont need to spell out the virtues of Nicky. He is the BEST defenseman to set blade to ice. He is the Wayne Gretzky of D-men and you have the audacity to wish him away? I dont even know why I am responding to your post since you are so unbelievably clueless regarding hockey in general. There are 29 other teams that would pay twice the salry Nick and D get now to have them for one year and we have them. You sound like the type that has a supermodel girlfriend and complains that she doesnt have perfect hair after rocking your world. Total Moron and I feel just a bit more dumb replying to you. Damn me
-
Cant remember who said it but a few weeks ago someone here said it best. "Time to take Homer out back and Ole Yeller him." He has been so unbelievably loyal and productive for us but we need fresh legs on the roster. Homer isnt at all replaceable in his talents in front of the net but hes come to the point that he cant use that talent anymore due to physical issues AND being on the Ref Black List for Goalie Interference I hope he is kept on as a Special Teams Coach next season
-
Well tonight was a bit disappointing
-
Hes cold.... Obviously you missed that and your 1 million pnt font sig proves that you are not the one to comment on why our #1 goalie isn't playing on Friday. Babs doesnt want Howie in if he didnt have a warm up game prior. I dont blame him in the least. Yes any guy can get hurt, are you just gonna throw in your only starting goalie and risk him when we already are gonna go to the playoffs? I read half of the first sentence of your reply before realizing you are completely clueless... Point being WE NEED A GOALTENDER TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP. I spared everyone the half screen font.
-
Im not happy either but do you want Howie cold and hurting himself for a third time??? Look at the end game. We havent lost against the Preds on Friday, we have more games to play with Howie in net and we need a healthy goalie going into the playoffs. To risk Howie for the Preds game and lose him to injury for the playoffs is asinine. We are in the show, set yourself up for the best chance to go the distance. If we were in the bottom seeds where someone is going to be on vacation next week then you play Howard. Since we arent you win the games you can and deal with the losses. This is PRE PLAYOFF HOCKEY!!!! You make every concession necessary to be healthy for the second season. Im amazed by the people here that cant absorb the fact that we are in, we need to stay healthy to progress and acting like we are on the bumb is a bit premature.
-
Well cause Howie and Joey ARE NOT on LTIR so that hampers the plan with calling up extra guys.
-
....cause we have a huge surplus of healthy scratches every game.
-
Contractual agreements come to mind. I guess you could always track him down and finish him off. Then youd probably complain about the next hobbled up guy on the team and finish him off After a while we wouldnt have any Red Wings cause you finished them off too Then youd complain that we didnt have a team. That would suck for everyone. Dont make it suck for everyone.
-
Suck it Guppies!!! Im more interested in them missing the playoffs than where we finish. Sick but I hate SJ like not much else. Im hoping they miss by 1 point and hopefully by a tiebreaker because of ROW. Them needing 2 points to make it and winning a shootout only to be knocked out would be damn close in the happiness quotient to us winning the cup. I havent checked if thats even possible but I want THAT. Otherwise losing by 1 is next best. They seem to only win or lose by 1 so why not LOSE  Die Sharks Die!!
-
What are you complaining about? Weve played like this on the road the whole season lol ****especially against POS teams
-
Hey I left the F off of Ucking lol. The title was chosen because everytime I see it I lmao. Its one of the good things that happened during that game and unfortunatley more people werent in the thread to enjoy it like I did. Regardless, just like that makes me smile so does the team now that they are looking like their selves again. I posted ccause with our win yestereday we clinched a playoff berth for the 21st time in a row and the pressure is off that we may not even go. Its just a happy go lucky lets go wings thread and be optimistic about things going forward. No it was the funniest drunk typing outburst Ive probably ever read. Its in CrimsonFlame's sig now. It was in the GDT on Saturday and anyone that was there were cracking up over it. If I had drunk spell checker it was supposed to be typed Jack ****** Pot in regards to Holland and his supposed less than stellar choice of picking almost all of our players. Dont ask me to paraphrase beyond that since it makes zero sense other than the guy being angry, drunk and in desperate need of spelling skills.

Thats what Id expect Whitney Houston to sound like as she was dying.....

Being a shop owner and mechanic I tend to see life through the guise of cars in very odd ways. Ive noticed that our team has been assembled as a well oil machine with each player providing a very focused action to the overall machine. Each player is a small gear in a very complex watch and if one gear fails, the machine ceases to function. I have noticed that certain car makes are built the same way. Some companies build the Ultimate driving machine, much like the Wings. In good repair there is little that can stop such a well defined and sorted mechanism. Each piece is in place to support every other piece with little leeway for failure. German cars are built like this. They work awesome until there is a small problem. At this point things go south quickly and repairs take a long time and are typically very costly. A Chevy on the other hand has its share of failures but you can typically drive for a while until there is a bit of time to get it fixed. When its in for repair, most of the time its not going to break the bank and even expensive repairs are fairly rare. I tend to look at the team in a way that we have a hard to repair and very expensive team when parts need replacing. Instead of having a robust system that can interchange parts and are easy to fix or replace, we have custom pieces that take months or years to obtain. If we were in a car we would hate what we are driving. Theres a fine line between exotic performance and heavy duty horsepower but when you compare it to hockey it becomes clear that heavy duty trumps high end precision every day of the week, especially when we are in an endurance race. Corvettes have won the 24hr of LeMans not because they are on the cutting edge of technology but because they use a well know system and hone them to compete while also being bullet proof at hour 23. I think our team needs more honed yet traditional engineering instead of a highly strung and very fragile powertrain that fails in horrific succession once a main part breaks. I appologise for the car analogies but like I said, I see most things as a comparison to them. So, do we need to build a more traditional engine with some hop up parts or is F1 performance the only way to a championship?

It should have been a 5-2 game IMO. The first goal is iffy and Ill give hime the benefit of the doubt. The second goal was all him as was the 1st PP goal or was it the 2nd pp goal? I cant remeber which cause they were so close together. He is playing for GR now because of his performances and hes only here cause of injury. He is subpar by NHL standards no questions asked.

Would the person that didnt like what I had to say like to give a thoughtful retort to something that is so blantantly obvious?
