Well... The refs did call the penalties and put us on a 4-3. So yes, the refs definitely have a hand in it. How you interpret it is up to you. BTW I cant remember the last time the Wings have won on my BDAY which happens to be right now so Im expecting the worst. Hell we lost to the Blues on this day in 79 when the Joe was opened.

They got Dive-a-guchi and Danny Where-did-he go?!?. They will make the playoffs and like the Blues and will go out first round. They have a decent portion of the talent, have to choke back the vomit, that the Sharks had. They've made a good run so far and I think it will carry them over but they wont be 1st and they wont be a top 4 seed either. They are riding momentum at the moment and with a week off fo AS I think it will slow to a crawl. I call them in the 7th seed by the end of the season right in front of the Blues.

I just got home after walking out of the game after the 2nd period. I dont know what you expected from Smith but that boy deserved 5:00 TOI the entire game not most of the 2nd period. From what I saw he was the reason for 2 goals against us which also started the turning point of the game after we were controlling the ice. Smith had no idea where he was supposed to be and the Sharks took advantage of it throughout the 2nd period. He may turn out to be a good player but hes gonna need to start out slow and work his way up. Playing him most of a period is insane and a bad move by Babs. Theres blame to go around but Smith was a HUGE open hole on the ice tonight and the reason I left a game early for the first time in my life.

At this point anything could help BTW dont post to forums when you just got royally f***ed in the sports book for a lot of dough (there were quite a few games and most didnt cover the spread or I just picked wrong) then get free drinks for the evening only to go to your room and try to type. Ive seen Swedes and Russians spell better than I did last night . Regardless they gotta say, "screw our new system" and just go back to the old s***. Coaching is by far the biggest issue on this team. We started this season with a NEW system and BY GOD WE ARE GONNA STICK WITH IT!! We dont have a new team, the same guys that rolled teams on a regular basis are now running after each other trying to get the puck. I thiught we had it bad with McCrimmon and Co. but I didnt thing we would down grade the way we have. We arent a rebuilding team. We should be WELL ABOVE 500 right now. I did see the tidbit that we won the Cup after going 6 flat but man I dont see a Cup team here. I am considering selling my tix for the SJ game knowing that we will probably get pasted all over the ice and then get to listen to the cheers and jeers. I cant afford 400 bucks for tix and travels and ect to go to a game that is a crap shoot at best if we will even have a chance. Back to the coaching. At this point we need to go to a trap and hope we can get SOG. That is our only hope right now. Man am I depressed. I bet 200 on the us since Im in vegas for the SEMA show and we were +200 with a 1.5 point spread. Of course it lookes like the might beat the spread but NO they had to shoot it out their ass. I put my money on them and they still cave. I am finding few things to keep me optimistic with the team since this debacle if you cant call it a disaster.

WOO HOO!!! I was prepped to be watching NHL on PS3 because of this but now I can watch it and SPEED as well as every other channel I watch which just so happens to be on a FOX network. I suprised myself to find out that 90% of the show I watch are a Fox affiliate. Freaked me out that I was going to have a TV contract for TV I wasnt going to watch, I was really mad about that but for now Im calm again.. Now only if the Wings could make my FSND feed worthwhile to watch Id be content with paying 150+ for the ability to watch them

These points count at the end of the season and if we are healthy now what do you forsee happening with injuries? You obviously see into the future and dont seem at all concerned with a loss of 4 easy points and another 4 that could have been ours. More or less I think youre a retard trying to stir the pot. How bout giving a little insight into why we are "overreacting" when we shouldnt?

How many on the PP? How many did we "win" and turn them over right away? Numbers and percentages are just that, what happened is what counts. I can think of three defensive zone FO that "we won" and we turned them over behind our net split seconds after we got "possesion" if you want to call it that.. Getthing the draw and trully controlling it and yanking it to a Shark isnt the same thing although on paper it maybe. So I have a grip, how bout you watch the game and lay off on the numbers. You sound like middle management material, all metrics and no real world results. We did some ok things but controlling the puck was not one of them espescially after the draw. If Im wrong then the burden of proof is on the prosecution. I think Jimmy did great except for the break away that I think was a shoot out practice run but oh well. Homer was the highlight of my night, he got screwed but shouldve been at least the 3rd star tonight , Im off to bed

First I made a thread about criticizing Babs 2nd unit a few weeks ago so dont call me on being a flip flop. The thread is entitled WHAT IS BABS THINKING? The umbrella play is retarded and easily beat. They need to stop. That unit being good once or twice out of 8 games is horrific. If we have them out for 4 mins a game and they score once in eight games thats over 30 mins to get one goal, sadly its worse than that. As far as FOs, we gave up a lot of key ones including draws on PP that killed a ton of time, god I wish we had Drapes still. As far as the PK, you said it better than I could have and I believe its a micro chasm for the play in general. Anyone have some optimistic views on our play lately? I know its great that Jimmy had a son and thats awesome but as far as the game goes, I cant see any rays of light after this one and am looking for a way to perk up after this abortion of a run so far.

Our first pas is atrocious and has caused too many turnovers and costed us a break away tonight. All in all, this team seriously needs to get back to basics. Solid passes, position and hustle. Seems like Babs is trying to teach magic to monkeys right now instead of strengthening the fundamentals that our highly talented team can use to lethal ends. Im going to the Wings game in SJ on the 11th and I am praying that we turn things around by then, I am a bit pessimistic but Im going and Ill be rooting them on.

Pylon played good the first two games this season then it was back to lazy skating, leaving open lanes every place he "tries" to cover and has obviously decided that hes bout in for the next few years and will ride it out. Union shops have these types. We have a crew of hard workers and that one guy that shows up, does half assed work that everyone else have to fix and cause of the rules cant be fired cause he gets by doing the bare minimum. Only a massive f*** up or a major injury will keep this guy on the job making it harder for everyone else DAY IN AND DAY OUT. Hollan was desperate this off season, I do hope that our growing cap space can grab up some deadline pickups that really energize the blue line.

Im sure Im not the only one that has been sick watching the 2nd PP line that has been put together. 4 forwards 1 D man (Kronner) all set up in an umbrella formation like this -) . They have set it so that Kron has to run both points and hope that Happy can hit a point if something gets away. The idea is iffy at best with how teams are running their kill. The way that line is performing, they are one quick step from allowing short handed break aways. I understand they are experimenting but our traditional system at the very least keeps the puck in the offensive zone more at the expense of having another forward. Dunno if this is a hair brain idea from one of the new coaches or a solution to a lack of Raffy at the point but they need to nip this in the bud and try to implement a more polished version of their traditional PP as opposed to throwing the whole book out. I do like seeing some new plays that have been pretty effective in regular play and Ill say that it does make it fun to watch when you dont know what they are going to do when the puck is brought in over the blue line (weird that watching it enough you can almost call the guy that is going to get the pass based on where guys are standing before it even happens). Maybe they figured out that teams have watched enough film but I say tweek it dont start over as it looks like a bunch of blind guys playing with a hand tied behind their back.

Just to update, looks like they ditched the pp strategy I was complaining about... Maybe they check this forum for approval??? Goes to show, tweak what is proven and it works... Thats why we are now ~80% on our PP after going back to the system...

Wow how bout we stick to the old one and fix its problems?? 1 goal with the advantage means the new PP isnt working at all and I hope you can see it.
