They mention he picked him up on sunday, bloody sunday?

I know hes a 3-4-5 guy but anyone have an opinion on Wisniewski? I like how he plays from what Ive seen hes pretty tough and is Raffy-esque with a bit of toughness. He also brings youth, experience and good value. Thoughts>?

Fair enough but it sounds to me like he may have been in a situation similar to mine and relayed it a bit different. The thought that you were going to do a Chuck Norris on a group of 30 guys is laughable. I'll thrown down no doubt if necessary but youd have to be insane to figure that a group of 15-30 drunk guys is a beatable group. 30 nuns vs 5 guys are gonna have a really bad night. As far as the crowds are concerned, Im sure you know the atmosphere on Santa Clara right after a game that the chokes win. I dont think its flukey at all, those guys are there everytime. Sore Winners I like to call them. Never a classy winner always like to want to punch it into you if its provoked. Its worse there than some other places. I think its pent up anger that they havent seen their team win for real. Maybe thats why Wings fans are chill, we win enough to keep us satisfied So although Sleepwalker thinks hes Chuck Norris in reality hes a guy like me that has had some instigating things happen to him and he just is relaying them through is Last Action Hero mind. Id like to add that the Guppies choked it AGAIN and proved that they are a horrible hockey club with no chance in hell of winning anytime soon. Hopefully these are the Red Sox of the NHL. Only take a lifetime to get 1 banner. I pray I am dead when they do it and I hope to live a long life LOL.

Its real sad that you got a minus 5 on that as that happened to me TWICE!! I went to 3 Wings games this year, both regular season games and Game 1 of the playoffs. First time I grouped together with about 10 other Wings guys that were at least 6'. There was a gang of at least 30 people that started circling us as we left the game and there was a moment when a full on brawl almost broke out (spitting, the usual verbal s*** and one guy got a water bottle thrown at him from someone but missed). Second time was after Game 1 and just me and my dad were leaving the game and same type of encircling thing by a healthy group of guys. Since it was just 2 of us we walked the crowd towards a cop car in order to quell the situation. I wont say all sharks fans are like this, thats painting too wide of a brush. A Raiders game on the other hand can end it serious physical attacks if you arent wearing black with certainty. The fact that it happened both times we lost says alot. The first game of the season when we won the fans walked out pretty sedate. Its when they are all pumped up I have been a target since I wear ALL red, not just a sweater. Head to toe red and it has been a magnet for conflict. Ill continue to go there to watch my wings and hope that my pop and I dont get involved in a fight and end up either hurt or in jail or both. All in all Id say Sharks fans are about 60-40 good bad maybe 70-30. Lower level fans are way cool, its the upper level guys that get drunk and come in groups on 10 billion that are problematic. Ive been to other venues for hockey and for other pro sports and SJ is one of the dicier places. Granted never been to Pittsburg, Philly or Montreal which I would guess are pretty gnarly as far as fan go so I dont have a complete yard stick in order to measure against. Lets just say that Ive been to Kings vs Lakers games in Sacramento back in our heyday and it was no where near what it was like at HP poovillion. Just my own experiences, maybe being a 6'6" guy sporting red in a rival building encourages it but it really shouldnt happen. PS hope I dont get minuses for a personal experience.

Who cares? THE MUTHA f***IN SHARKS LOST!!!!! I see them like the Avs of a few years back WHEN WE WENT TO THE CUP (sorry to rub it in to SJ fans, it must be tough never seeing a SCF with your team in it) No take that back Im not sorry lol Itll take a day for the Sharks fans to figure out who choked first and who choked worst. :bye2: How bout a round of applause for the Wings that McLallenchoke said wore them out   Thanks to SJ for making me 150 Washington's for calling that they would lead the game and lose it. I have a drink in your favor lmfao The season is done IMO who cares who wins the Cup as long as the Sharks dont have a chance at it. I will sleep well tonight. Heres to a horrible 21st year for the Guppies CWN OUT!!

Believe it and do it. Weve disagreed on few things but follow this, Rule 1. Root for the Wings Rule 2. Root against San Jose, Chicago, Pitt and Colorado Rule 3. Root for the team that benefits the Wings. Rule 4. Root against Canadiens Rule 5. Root for the East if they arent a team listed in Rule 2 Rule 6. Root for the team that has ex-Wings players in the organization. Looks like we should be saying GO BOLTS about now!!!! BTW thats why I was pulling for the Kings. Lilja on the team, benefits the wings, rooting against the Sharks. It was a perfect team to pull for other than us. OH I am f***in so stoked right now. Its a second place to seeing us going to the cup.

Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons

Well saying he has more skills than Perros is not that hard. We may see things different but Torres likes to check guys when they arent looking. Me = Headhunter hater Nothing worse than a penalty magnet and Torres is definitely that. Hes a helluva hitter but hes not the banger Id be looking for. I dunno about prospects but anyone know of any Kron style hitters up for grabs?? -

Dunno about you but Torres is a total goon and Id be a bit embarassed to dress a guy like him. He doesnt have an awesome 'stache like Perros but that are brothas from utha muthas if you get my drift. -

WEBER FOR 9mil!!!! WOW dunno if you checked on how that Kovalchuck contract hambstrung the Devils but dont see Holland paying that much for a guy that probably wont be that big of an ROI. Dont get me wrong Id love him for 6-7 but 9 is WAY TOO high. I do like that Pylon isnt on your list thank you for the offseason hope -
Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons

Am I reading this correctly? I thought it said that Ericsson to announce retirement but instead it was Raffy??? What a loss and so very unexpected. We need to buy some superstars and get rid of the ankle bitters that dont produce. Hello we can buy in 2-3 B-level dmen or 1-2 A-level guys. Why do the blessings always come with bad news attached? -
I remember saying at the end of the season that Ill be happy if we get through the first round. I was very happy after the first round. Second round was a bit personal being that I live in a pond that harbors guppies. We just about ruined their happiness, one goal... This round I pray that 20 years of choking doesnt stop. As far as the Wings go "if" they moved on. We were seriously hurt and worn out. We really were questionable going into round 1. It would have been a serious miracle surviving series 3 and probably would have been embarassing in Series 4. We didnt have a healthy team this year and I am happy we wore down the fishies to where they are now. Side note, the penalties in this game became fairly comedic. I know the 3 in a row 5-3 were mostly SJ fault but just the first period had me rolling my eyes. If the NHL hopes to stay credible they need to let the teams play. This insane amoun t of calls first one way then the other has got to stop.

Im seriously torn on this one. I know what is, what was and what can be with Happy. Are we looking at a guy that had a serious slump coming back from the KHL? Are we witnessing the demise of a player on the verge of superstar status? Or did we see a player that hit his peak and quickly fell off? I cheered for Happy like no other, he was making D look bad on certain nights and helped us win a Stanley cup. Personally, I see him as having an off year that snowballed the season rolled on. Z had a pretty f***ed year last year comparatively to his other performances but not on Huds level. Emotionally I want to see him dress, realistically I want to see him up to the trade deadline and make a decision at that point. Problem with that if he is suckin it next Feb. hes worth as much then as he is now. On the other hand, we verify if he had a bad year and give ourselves a chance to see if he is as good as he used to be. Point being, Id hate to lose money on him if we trade him for peanuts only to find out he had a slump and it comes back to bite us. Worst case, we have to hang on to him through the rest of next year, best case is we have a guy that adds a lot of scoring potential to the team. I wish Hudler was as cut and dry to me as Ericsson is.

I just read that Bo was in the NHL substance abuse program when he died. Boogaard mixed drugs and alcohol Obviously he was addicted to oxy which is all too common. Percocet, Oxycontin and Roxicontin are all the same thing in different mixtures or dosages. Percocet is mixed with APAP (asprin), Oxycontin is a sustained release pill and Roxicontin is for immediate release. All of these have the same probabilty of addiction and side effects. Hydrocodone like Vicodin and Norco are mixed with asprin and although highly addictive, way safer than Oxycodone in the long run. Its sad to see people that would never in a million years take heroin be prescribed oxy for an injury and become addicted to it like a junkie on the street. Old ladies with arthritis that are strung out, athletes and actors OD'ing and high schoolers ruining their lives all because of an over prescribed pill. I believe pharmeceutical companies are making way too much money one way or another from these medications to stop and find something better that treats pain without being a potential recreational drug. Forgive me for preaching but this drug is worse than cocaine, meth or heroin because normal people that may have been in a car wreck or broke a bone all of a sudden are thrust into dealing with drug addiction, opiate withdrawl and possible death from abuse. This needs to stop as its ruining millions of peoples lives that didnt sign up for those type of issues.

Is it just me or are the game changing calls just a way of life for the NHL? This league is starting resemble the WWF err WWE I got to fold up the tin foil long johns for the season when the Wings left for the season but I can still see the playmaking by the league. It is unbelievably obvious that they are making calls to get a series going the way they want. More drama, more viewers. It works for Law and Order and CSI right? I lost count of how many penalties Vancouver took early on. Remember not count the last penalty on SJ as it happened as time ran down and obviously wont carry over. This farce to let a team get way ahead and then let the other team get close in the end by evening calls is losing my attention real quick and I will find another sport to watch if this s*** keeps up. This is not the NHL I watched and made me keep watching. This is professional wrestling with the Ref going ONE- - - TWO - - - THRE... OHH HE CAME BACK!!! Im giving up real quick. I bet this goes 7 games and Vancouver wins. The Sedins will be treated like heroes going into the cup. Luongo will be questioned just like Osgood then he'll find a way. The series is already decided but they cant make it look to obvious so they drag it out to look really close. Im sure some know I hate the Sharks and wish nothing but failure but watching this went overboard. The last game was so lopsided it had to have a "turning point" to keep it close. Who wants to watch two teams that went 7 games do anything but ANOTHER 7 games?!?! Bettman can suck my dogs sweaty ball sack

Maybe in Bo's situation some doja would take care of things but from a person that has had to deal with RX opiates (diluadid drip, 400mg/day oxy now methadone for chronic pain) from a horrible near death accident I sustained, burning one isnt gonna take care of it. I tried and it doesnt help serious pain. Serious pain as in pain that will bring you to tears if not treated, broken rib pain not broken finger pain. I know how easy it is to have a bottle of oxy and know that the script wont be refilled for a month but youre in horrible pain so you drink a beer to increase the pain killing properties. There is a point where you will simply vomit up everything if you get to much oxy with too much alcoho as long as the oxy has already kicked in. The bad thing is that most chronic pain scripts are for Oxy SR which is slow release. Unlike roxycontin which hits you in minutes (and is used for break through pain) oxycodone sr takes about 20-30 mins to take affect. With that said I could easily see how easy it would be to wash down an extra 40(mg) or 2 of oxy over your prescribed amount with a shot or three or 5 of your favorite booze and in 45 mins you will be passed out and not breathing. I had an issue with that minus alcohol early on when I came home from the hospital and kept taking pills cause it wasnt kicking in and then all of a sudden my GF was slapping me to wake up cause I was turning blue and was rushed to the ER. WARNING PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT I have tried to speak out against oxycontin as a take home drug because of the enormous risk for abuse, serious dependency within a week as well as the risk of death if you dont have a proper tolerance for the drug. It is heroin, you just dont shoot it. From what Ive been told it gives you the same rush, the same high and the same risks to your health. Its sad that its so often prescribed uneccesarily and that other treatments havent been developed. Same goes for Xanax and other drugs that are highly addictive and have a high probabilty of fatality when mixed with even moderate amounts of alcohol which just so happen increase the drugs effects. I pray for Bos family, they are grieving the death of a great guy that died unnecessarily. To any of you out there that here this, please dont take Oxy recreationally and please dont mix it with alcohol, mix it with other meds like Xanax and if you need to take more call your dr at once to explain the issue cause you will be labeled a drug seeker if you empty your scripts early. If you are in more pain than what is prescribed a dr should see you to figure out why what they thought would help didnt. I had 6 extra surgeries because of missed or secondary issues that caused pain and me to need an extrordinary amount of that s***. Also, Methadone is a great pain reliever for chronic pain without getting you all loopy and drugged up. If you are taking it to feel drugged up STOP NOW. You arent taking it for the right reason and you are risking addiction if you arent already. Please heed this advise it could really save your life. Bo you and your family are in my prayers.

ITS A HOCKEY MIRACLE!!!!

I hope you dont complain about our defense if that happens. Just cause hes cheap doesnt mean hes worth it (and 1.5 isnt cheap for what he brings to the table). Furthermore, Why arent we hoping we can have solid 1 or 2 guys as 5 or 6 guys? We had it before and we won cups. Settling for less is the reason we are close but not winning. Ill take #1 or #2 guys from #11-#14 teams for our bottom feeders. Its been shown that the better players on shoddy teams are willing to eat some salray to play on a team that can go the distance or have a good chance. For once maybe we should draft in some expensive guys that have immediate return on investment and shuffle the guys we already have to make a decent team. I dont follow college or minor league prospects so Im at a disadvantage at calling who we should pick but I wouldnt mind making some trades for a young superstar. Holland likes to weed out cheap players in the minors and stab them into the league at their prime. I question that tactic as it has about 20-30% return on investment as well as losing good players to trades before they even made it to the big leagues. This will be the last post from me on this thread (as long as I dont get qouted) but I think we need to play Tatar, Mursak and Kindl. These are three men that have a lot to give, are young and free of injury, cheap and all have the potential for being superstars or at very least very important players. Tatar may not be Crosby but he is gonna overshadow Z just needs ice time. CWN out!

Ive read your reasons as to why you think he is worth keeping on the team. I just think youre wrong. I hate Ericsson cause he makes our team worse. I havent misrepresented your posts. I just answer what you wrote and vice versa. I havent changed your words, I may have paraphrased here and there but the original statement is there to compare against. The Holland situation is befuddling as much so as Babs bipolar line changes. We have strength in areas of our Defense. Kron is a great hitter. Raffy is a good scorer although he can be clumsy with the puck and could be because of lingering injuries. Stuart can be slow but he is better more often than not. Nicky is Nicky, pound for pound one the best Dman to ever skate considering rules and regulations of the game now compared to back in the day. That gets us to Pylon and Suckei. The Salei deal is confusing. Babcock was the reason he got a job and when we were trying to get some new talent into that area we bring in a guy that hasnt been a decent player in over 5 years. Blame Holland for that. Ericsson is what he is. We have beaten the dead horse to death and we are at a time of crossroads where we either sign him to what will probably be a 2-3 year contract at ~2mil or we let him go UFA. Ericsson is like Abby. You bring in a guy with a definite roll to play and you see how it works out. Abby also makes bonehead mistakes and costed us 1 game for sure and IMO 2 againat SJ. I havent called for his head because he has shown definite upside when you weigh it against the brainless game changing and/or losing plays. I see him learning to control his stick and temper a bit and he is a great power forward. He is Leino in disguise and I have a feeling hed be a solid 2nd and maybe starter on more than a few teams. Being a solid 5th or 6th is for young up and comers like Kindl who need NHL experience not Ericsson. Ill eat crow if Kindl ends up belly flopping after a full year. All in all, we need a young two way Dman that everyone hoped Ericsson to be. Just like History, Mistakes are made and he needs to get packing sooner than later.

"Having played center most of his life, Ericsson enjoys an impressive skill-set. He has excellent mobility and agility for a player his size, possesses solid hands, has above average puck skills, and makes a very good first pass. His shot’s not too shabby either, having recorded a 100.1 mph slap shot at the 2008 AHL skills competition. But don’t let his soft hands fool you. He plays a physical brand of hockey with a willingness to protect his teammates by dropping the gloves." Bleacher report scouting Report 2008 I highlighted what was talked about him by almost everyone. A big shooter that wouldnt think twice about taking care of business. Sounds like Nick crossed with Kron to me. Isnt that why they were pairing him with Nicky during the 09 cup? I remember them saying that he was being taught to play like Nick. That ended in failure. Ill give you this, he finally stopped trying to poke check pucks away and at least attempted to get in front of it as well as he could. As far as his size is concerned, you claim he add some size at the blueline as an asset. What good is size if he is either unwilling or unable to use it? Potential is one thing, hell I had the potential to be an NBA basketball player except I didnt shoot good enough for a guy that is 6'6". Just cause Im tall and have some size doesnt mean I was able to play at the level required for the DRW. He is far from physical and a serious pushover. Like I said and you seem to acknowledge is that he doesnt use his body to his advantage. His first pass is fine as long as there isnt a forecheck that is worth a damn on the ice. His dump pass into the zone is scary soft and almost always ends in a quick outlet pass the other way right past him. Again potential vs results. Potential:10 Results: -100 As far as saying that it sounds like an emotional argument from you and some others, you sound like a codependent spouce of an alcoholic. "Hell get better" is the operative phase. We arent rebuilding a team last time I checked, people like myself expect results from the team. I get angry because he is given too much time and as of yet I dont have an indication that he is gonna get dropped. As far as his failure as a player being blamed on him? What can I say hes out there on the ice and he aint doin s***. As far as it being Holland fault instead? Who are you gonna trade him to? He thought he was gonna be awesome just like Babs and everyone else including me at the time. He actually played ok in 09 but that must have been freshman luck cause 4 months later and he stunk to high heaven. Its Hollands fault if he keeps him. Like the saying goes, Trick me once shame on you, Trick me twice, Shame on HOLLAND. I guess we will have to agree to disagree about how good he actually is and what hes worth. Oh and Salei is no better, except that he volunteered to not play for weeks at a time. That was nice.
