Or how about we hope he heals and plays better?
-
Good puck movement! Cleary - Stuart - Mule
-
Quick has no idea where the puck is on half of these. He's squeezing for dear life hoping it's on his shoulder. Incredibly ridiculous when the Kings score on a floater that was blindly deflected 6 times. The Kings look terrible. Keep trying, these are going to start going in. Dammit Janik, you idiot.
-
Comeon, score within the first 35 seconds here.
-
Really? Red Wings dominate the entire period and the Kings score off of a fluke high stick from a defender's stick?
-
Can everyone please calm the ^#& down now? The Wings have looked solid the last 10 minutes. If they continue to play like this, they'll blow the Kings out.
-
I think they had a good second half of the period. Wings definitely played more physical. They have two periods to turn this around and get at least a point.
-
Guys, it's only the first period.
-
-->insert obligatory post complaining about everything imaginable and how there's no chance we're going to beat team x/y/z in the playoffs<--
-
I wasn't complimenting them when I said they look like a bunch of goons. I don't think the Wings need to watch Slapshot in the locker room at intermission and start taking stupid penalties for cheap shotting the Hawks.
-
Go away. You haven't been watching the game, so you don't know what you're talking about. The Wings are out-shooting and out-playing the Hawks. They've hit the post at least 4 times in the game, and the last goal the Hawks scored was a fluke-mental mistake. Datsyuk and Lids will be back for the playoffs too, so saying this game is some sort of indication that the Wings won't be able to beat this team in a 7-game series is a complete joke.
-
These guys look like a bunch of goons. Cheap shot to Filp, punching Smith when has still has hist stick in his hand, hitting Kron against the boards while on his knees...
-
Wings lead the league in wins, are tied in the NHL for points, have the second best goal differential in the NHL, but we're all being secretly deceived and know they will get bumped out in the second round of the playoffs because: Hudler, who despite having a career year, is 'the worst top best awful great forward' in the NHL. Think a 3-goal win on the road without your best two players is a good thing? Think again. Clear indication of a team who is going to get knocked off in the second round, probably by San Jose or St Louis who haven't lost to Columbus this month...
-
Boy, are you bitter.
-
This is "getting outplayed"? Are we watching the same game?
-
2-1 Hawks.
-
The puck was vertical when he shot it. Nothing he can really do about a puck on its edge. You don't know where a puck is going to go sitting like that. Just something that happens.
-
Rats, the puck flipped on Helm at the last minute.

This, and rivalries in baseball as well. Many people from Wisconsin refuse to go to Brewers/Cubs games because of the drunk, vile, obnoxious Cubs fans. When the Brewers were selling out every game the last two months of the season, they actually had a lot of trouble getting people to go to a weekend Cubs series. They get into fights, boo their own players, and can't handle their alcohol. I was actually at a Bucks/Bulls game a couple weeks ago where the Bulls fan behind me was screaming 'DDD ROOSSEEE' during the National Anthem. Others were also booing bucks players when shown on the video board throughout the anthem. The Packers/Bears rivalry obviously also runs deep here, and has been around since the 1920's. I think the emergence of the Blackhawks has actually lead a lot of people to embrace the Red Wings or Canucks. I don't see that strong of a Blackhawks backing here, unless they are native to Illinois. There's a lot of Red Wings fans here, as well as Predator fans (minor league affiliate here), Capitals, and Penguins fans (they're also on TV all the time).

AHHHGGG they're playing the Blackhawks Blues games here in Wisconsin. Trust me, nobody here will ever, EVER cheer for a Chicago sports team.

Hossa was on 3 teams that made it to the Stanley Cup Finals and put up a +11 plus/minus in the playoffs. Franzen is +36 in his career. Franzen averages .44 goals per game in the playoffs, Hossa averages .28. Franzen averages .86 points per game in the playoffs, Hossa averages .76. Franzen also had 5 game winning goals the season the Wings won the cup. Pretty clutch. While I think Franzen was a bit overpaid, it was still a better deal than the $63 million bill the Blackhawks paid. Not saying Hossa sucks, or Mule is better, but I think signing Hossa to that long of a contract coming off a couple of injury seasons wasn't a bad move when Franzen is pretty good in the playoffs.
-
Come April-time, I'm okay with not having Hossa.

How was the boarding on Datsyuk not called? That was the same situation as Zetterburg... The high sticking I didn't really see either.

I think it was Miller with the screen in front of the net, but that was perfect execution... Helm is all over the ice. Babs must have said something to inspire these guys.
