  1. That article from the score is pretty good example of their style of radio, we have lots of charts and stats and numbers but don't have the intelligence to interpret them. I didn't actually glean anything from that article.
  2. I used to respect him until this postseason. I am sorry but his whining and mouthing WHAT THE F*** while caught on camera to refs about every call has just made me lose what respect I had for him. He will never be the next Stevie Y. I don't know but the class that the Wings exude must just make me spoiled on how I expect hockey players to act. He is basically just another Cindy to me now. Honestly, living in Illinois, I was thinking with Wings in East maybe I could try to cheer a bit for Hawks in West unless of course a Cup matchup, but after this year the way these dirtbags are playing (Shaw, Bickell, Seabrooke, Keith, Toews) not really sure I can ever root for this current team. Also, Bergeron must have been pissed that Toews won the Selke (over him and Pasha) and had to show the Hawks how a real Selke player plays last night. I'll leave this here, an oldie but goodie:
  3. So it probably has to be enough money to make him choose NHL over KHL right? But do you think he takes any less than market value to help Wings help him?
  4. How was it legal for Crawford to hold Seguin's stick too when he hustled down to get that puck right at edge of trapezoid? Does trapezoid let you commit penalties without getting a whistle too?

Which UFA would help the Wings the most?

By the way, Bickell has been put back on Shaw line this last game and might have been in game 1 too, and he hasn't been the same offensive powerhouse everyone was worshipping earlier in playoffs.
  6. Yes! I'd say they deserved it considering Jagr had his stick held for like a minute with no call. And then since when do they review they delay of game call? And not sure it was proven it actually went off Bruin stick, it was close, but too close to change call on ice.
  7. I find it funny after these dope analysts call out Jagr for being too old and tired to be on the ice after the 3 OT game, that he has basically been almost all of Boston's offensive chances in last 2 periods. Can NBC hire some people who actually don't say the wrong thing 80% of the time?
  8. Marchand might have done a little super man, but apparently that is what you have to do to actually get a call from these refs if you are wearing white (of course, that was probably a makeup call, they wish they didn't have to actually give him the trip).
  9. Hi Mr. Interference, stick pinning rask to ice in first one and then in second one sitting on him when goal goes by:

Paul MacLean won the Jack Adams

Well they keep trying to give genius awards to Q during these playoffs for constantly swapping his lines, but frankly there have been so many it doesn't seem like strategy as much as blind mice throwing darts at a dartboard.
  11. Obvious interference on first goal. Where's the guy who was criticizing me when I said Hawk's get every call? And don't point to second goal, that was a no brainer no goal, the puck was not visible even once during the goal scramble. Also, did i hear them say Milbury said play on Daugavin should have been penalty in game 1? Like I said in my post?
  12. Does anyone think that maybe Holland sort of seems like he wants to stand pat with this teams roster until he sees how we perform in the East next year? And then after that first season of analysis, decide which direction to take the team?
  13. I have had this argument with many people... if you are going to go "by the book" for the penalty shot earlier in the series, you can't throw the rulebook away when Saad throws a punch (which he clearly does like twice as he is falling to the ice) at a helmetless player (regardless if that helmetless player started the play). Ref had to stop play for player safety. Tell Saad to take the rough play like a limp fish and maybe the play wouldn't have been whistled dead. EDIT - Hawks had been getting away with flying elbows, cross checks that broke their own stick, and non-called boarding calls all series against the Wings. And a few actually led to them scoring on us...
  14. So hadn't been able to hop on since the game...here is my normal Hawks thoughts/complaints: -Start with the GTG and GWG, to say it isn't puck luck to shoot a puck 3 feet to the side of net and have it go off other team's skate to tie it up is skill makes me sick. Most Chicago radio guys didn't mention that particular play though. Then a double deflection, c'mon man... they apparently had heard on the grapevine that Boston media was blaming poor luck for losing, they were mad about that but apparently they don't live in reality. Game should have ended 3 to 2. -Not only did Oduya score a lucky tying goal, he basically should have been called for two penalties. Based on what we learned about penalty shots from the rule's junkies in our series was it doesn't matter how lightly you tap someone's hands on a breakaway, it affects their scoring chance and should be a PS. Well, Oduya was diving after a guy, his stick flew up and touched guy's hands. Second penalty, was diving again throwing stick and admittedly getting puck off, I think, Seguin's stick in front of net or maybe that Dragon guy, and then that same stick tripping the dude about 1 or 2 mins before their game winning goal. Sorry, refs, only calling over the glass and too many men on the ice penalties in OT when there are seriously other penalties is just bulls***. Grow a pair and call the game consistently throughout all the playoffs and OTs, don't change for game 7s or OTs etc... -There was another obvious takedown during a breakaway that should have been called a PS for Boston. They tackle guy and apparently he still didn't lose a chance at scoring while a step ahead of defender on a breakaway. I feel bad for Boston having to learn on the fly about how the refs don't call s*** on Hawks (and its not because of their skill) maybe its cause all their bulls*** is after the whistle and they don't like to call stuff that isn't part of a hockey play, good job dirtbag Hawks. I have never seen a team that is more clutchy/grabby on their backcheck than the Hawks (and they have the gall to ***** about it in any non fast paced game). Any time opposing team has puck along board, you can almost guarantee they can't get their stick on the puck because somehow magically the Hawk guy has them in a bearhug.
  15. So Seabrooke can take down a guy on a breakaway and not a penalty shot? Oh right, it wasn't for the Hawks. Also earlier penalty on interference in front of net on Bolland was a total dive. There was barely any force behind the push. I almost was going to call Crawford for embellishment penalty, but then I saw replay. I agree with whoever said, we are going to hate Marchand come next season.

    Brunner Contract Talks

I was curious if everyone is still in the old cap level mindset? When we talk about 2 or 2.5 or 4 mil players of the past few years, I think with the whole cap being reduced by 6 mil, everyone needs to adjust those numbers (including the players and their agents).
  17. What's funny is my Dad, a casual Hawks/Hockey fan thought that NBC wasn't giving the Hawks a fair shake in the broadcast booth during Wings/Hawks series... I had to choke back a heated argument with him and just nodded my head. Anyone but family and I would have gone off.
  18. I am not solely biased against Chicago, I personally dislike any venue/sport/team when the cheering has been starting earlier and earlier before end of anthem. I guess its just my personal opinion on the anthem. You can't get any earlier than when Chicago starts, so obviously they have most of my hate for it.

WCF : (5) Los Angeles Kings vs. (1) Chicago Blackhawks

Curious hypothetical, had the coin flipped to the other side in game 7 OT and we played Kings. Could we have beaten them? They looked pretty vulnerable and Quick seemed more mortal than normal (although stats have shown he implodes more often against Hawks than other teams). Would we have been out of gas? Only our rookies seemed energetic there at the end, it seemed...
  20. Boston fan from North Boston called up Chicago station today after they had a Boston radio guy on. Was hilarious. He basically was calling out Chicago radio guys for trying to trump up the story that the Hawks were the Cinderella team. Boston definitely plays better as underdog so its in their interest not to let Chicago try to take that, but from every other logical metric, no way Chicago could try to play the victim/under appreciated/underdog when they have been arrogant d-bags all year with their silly streak (asterisk) and best record.

Which UFA would help the Wings the most?

So, heard a stat today about Horton. Boston hasn't lost a series he has played in. He was hurt last year when they lost. He also has 34 points in 37 playoff games, and a +32!!!! That is insane playoff hockey. I guess I posted here cause I was getting the impression from other threads that people were so ga ga over BIckell instead of players like this... c'mon man. I am not sure Bickell current play has gotten him to the Horton level of salary yet, since Horton is doing just as well, but if both were equal, you'd be crazy to choose Bickell over Horton.
  22. So, what I learned in last series was their whole disrespect the national anthem s*** isn't as long in tradition as I was led to believe. I think TV announcers said it didn't start until early 90s for Desert Storm, although wiki says: Either way, its not like 50 or 100 year tradition. In my opinion, its disrespectful as hell.

WCF : (5) Los Angeles Kings vs. (1) Chicago Blackhawks

Streaks are made to be broken, just like LA could easily break their away game losing streak against an again over-confident Hawks team. Their success ends up being their undoing every time, egos galore... from Coach on down.

WCF : (5) Los Angeles Kings vs. (1) Chicago Blackhawks

Surprising, Chicago is losing and they call a ticky tack hook... like 0.5 seconds of a stick on guys thigh, not even above waist. ...and of course, the auto delay of game penalty for over the glass... except it went about 80 feet down ice before over... no way that deserves a penalty, it was obviously it was easily out of zone and not a tactic by PK. Not to mention, it should be legal just like icing is legal for a PK unit. I'll just keep commenting, haha... now NBC announcers trying to say clearing Toews out from net after whistle/scrum in front of net should be penalty. Like what happens 99% of the time during regular season and playoffs to players who are near goaltender when he makes a save. The bias is sick and obvious.

    Griffins GM 7 - tonight

Do you think anyone is jealous that during a transition year, we still made it to the second round in playoffs, beat 2nd seed, took 1st seed to game 7 OT... and yet we still have a stacked AHL club who is going to the finals? Or does nobody other than real hockey fans actually care what their minor systems look like? It makes me smile really big though, I love it.
