I was thinking that once Q got the home matchup and even on away he was better at getting Toews away from Z and matched up on Dats. Z was working hard and not much offense when that was his job earlier in series, I am guessing same thing happened to Dats when he had to cover Toews more (and in turn had Toews on him, who is actually a good defensive player considering he is a Selke finalist too).

He was probably trying to get some strategy out of Z so he could then interview Quenneville and ask him how he will respond to Detroit's planned strategy.

sigh, Hawks' fans on Facebook were quick to pull out the rulebook on the penalty shot call, but now want to stuff the rulebook in the drawer on the no goal allowed call... saying the ref doesn't know what he was calling on that play and apparently oblivious to Saad throwing a punch at a guy with no helmet.

Oh and I love how Sharp wanted a penalty shot earlier in period, damn refs have the Hawk's conditioned to beg for extra s***.

Did nobody see the trip/interference on Zetterberg before all that started?

Datsyuk got boarded midway through that period, no call. I think our guys play hard, they play with as much energy as they can muster almost all times because it seems like we have no next gear. We can't actually generate too much pressure by will alone. We never get to that next level of energy... I am not saying they don't play hard but this whole series they play very even keel at the highest they can for a whole game but never really kick it up a notch when needed... I hope they give their last bit of energy in this last 20 minutes.

Not that I doubt Q knew about Fil getting hurt, since he probably ordered the hit on him by Shaw, but Pierre just going ahead and telling him during interview just in case he didn't notice. Also, pre game they show highlights and there was a distinct Sharp grabbing Ericcsson's whole left side and stick during a forecheck play from a previous game that was obviously not called a penalty.

So, what I am hearing from Pierre analysis... Shaw thugging it up at our bench and injuring Flip and trying to hurt Z is ok, good non call. Interference on Wings... good call.

I am not sure I could handle OT. I really want the Wings to finally take advantage of how much the Hawk's Dmen are pinching...and I don't understand how their Wings can cherry pick all night long and not somehow take advantage of that.

Until only the embellishment is called and the hit is waived off as a penalty, diving will never stop.

I used to at least respect Toews, especially since his idol was Yzerman and he says he modelled his game after him... however, after all his whining this series, he will never be Stevie Y or any incarnation of him. All the .gifs of him with his crybaby face and arms up in the air, and slamming his stick against penalty box and whining in post game about Z and Kronwall treating him rough (for standing in front of our net for chrissakes!)... and whining about refs. I always thought that since I live in Illinois maybe I would give the Hawks my western conference love once the Wings are out in the East (minus cross conference and SC finals games)... no way now.

Funny they keep mentioning on the radio about this except one minor detail. They do the last 4 years, that if Hawk's win, its the last 4 stanley cup champions... convenient to trim the number to 4 from 5. I have also heard Chicago radio guys twice today talk about and ask analysts how Hawks match up to Kings and isn't it daunting for a team to know they have to face Quick who has only let up 10 goals in last 7 games. Last I checked, take away an empty netter and a chintzy penalty shot, and our own Jimmy Williams hasn't let in too many more than that and yet they apparently aren't scared of us.

Yeah someone else said it but Rolling Stones are in town and actually if Hawks win, it hurts them a bit cause they have to play Saturday and Sunday, back to back, and Stones last and third show is on Monday night. My prediction is an octopus is thrown on the ice and for the first time it is a penalty but not for the home team even though its their home ice, they will go above and beyond the rule book and assess the the penalty to the Wings because its "their" tradition. I also predict Hawks are given 3 penalty shots.

Yeah most non Hawks/non Detroit people think it was ticky tack and no way you call that to give a penalty shot in a 1 goal game. Imagine if it was called for Detroit and we scored a goal to take lead and then eliminated Hawks? The tears would flood the midwest.

I am not going to complain it didn't deserve a penalty shot, but if that was a slash, then this is a penalty, maybe not a penalty shot but he certainly would have been in alone with a good scoring chance (shouldn't they award him with the scoring chance a penalty has taken from him?)

CBC HNIC Game 6 intro (for those of us scrubs who are stuck watching NBC). I am amazed that there is all this additional footage from other camera angles for some of these plays and play reactions on the bench. Does NBC just throw them in the garbage? I am seriously considering not watching game 7. Does anyone hate me? I just can't take this, I think I made a post awhile back hoping for a miracle to have Wild beat Hawks so my heart wouldn't attack me to death during this series... and now having to go to game 7... I may keel over from stress.

Not a matter of not understanding rules, the play happened fast and they don't even give us a replay.

So no replays from NBC for the possible high stick before 1st hawks goal this period, or the possible offsides?
