WCSF - (6) San Jose Sharks vs. (5) Los Angeles Kings

That wouldn't have been called a penalty in Hawks vs Wings... well unless it was a Wings guy hitting a Hawk. -

The Hawks or their fans can't be mad about anything that game except themselves, should have been at least 3 more penalties that 2nd period that weren't called on them. -

By the way, I love how Edzo is commentating on how to beat Howard.. .talking about if he pull high out of net then he can't recover and you have to get the puck in behind him. Does he have a feed right to Hawk's assistant coach's ears? Also as pointed out earlier in thread him trying to add his voice to the Hawks whining talking about subtle interference, hopefully refs get annoyed that he thinks they aren't smart enough to see it. -

Couldn't post at first intermission, thoughts so far. Why can't we exploit their cherry pickers? They have almost 2 per play now... 3 uncalled penalties, 2 saw and called by Pierre. Another elbow to the head of Cleary, good job NHL stopping head targetting. A cross check by Rosival or maybe Stalberg that broke their stick on someone's back... and then the mugging of Franzen in front of the goal. Cross check uncalled. Plus almost every time a wing is heading to the boards they are cross check/pushing them in the back... Last thought, I don't see how they are complaining about clutch and grab when they have two people draped over Dats every time he touches puck, he has to pull off a miracle move, split the D every time or he loses the puck. -

Couple of thoughts I have had last couple of days: 1. I am not sure why Toews is crying about being roughed up a bit... the majority of it is right in front of the net or on rebounds (some on the boards during forechecking, very little open ice hits)... Does he think because he is a star that he is entitled to his freedom while in front of the net trying to jump on rebounds? Have to give him credit that not a lot of stars muck it up in that area, but if he does he is going to get roughed up, sorry Jonny. 2. I really think the Anaheim forecheck (so far) has been better than the Hawks. And it really got us ready to handle the Hawks forecheck. Hawks may have more in them that they haven't shown us yet and it is possible for them to out forecheck what Anaheim threw at us, but I really think we got good practice in Anaheim. -
Any scouting on this guy? http://www.freep.com/article/20130522/SPORTS05/305220105/detroit-red-wings

Sounds like the afternoon show in Chicago. Bernstein built his career on making fun of the callers and basically instead of arguing them just calling them stupid. Now no smart callers call in (because duh they are smart) or if they do and actually have a good point the producers don't put them through. Its obvious the producers purposely put through the dumb calls as part of the act. Then they all laugh at the caller. Its really grating radio.

I think playing Tootoo would be the Wings equivalant of the Hawks playing Carcillo when they had Stalberg not playing. Although I do think Tootoo is better than Carcillo.

Foster was on Chicago Radio today and basically said all your bullets except for flat out calling them bandwagon fans.

More importantly to baby sit him because he kept getting into the news for drunk partying and pictures. So, in order to mature more, he moved back in with his Mom basically... pic fan brought to game appropriate in my opinion.

This guy is on CBC? Some comments say Glenn Healy? How do they still pay him to analyze after he makes obviously erroneous comments like this? The only thing he could possibly have meant to say is that Dats wasn't given too much size...but its his talent AND hard working that makes him a perennial Selke finalist and top scorer in the league.

HFBoard guy claimed he was at game and during last game when about 3 were thrown late in the game, the announcer said a delay of game penalty would happen if another was thrown, and another was thrown and nothing happened. Thankfully. If Uncle Gary wants Detroit to get penalized, I am sure he will give the edict down from high.

I asked in game thread but didn't get a response (and there may not be one)... But did the CBC feed or any highlights show this play? Our beloved NBC didn't deem the play good enough to show a replay of... I am curious how Cleary lost his stick, because, with the way the refs have not been calling stuff, I'd like to confirm with my own eyes how he lost his stick (if it was legal, accident, or ripped out of his hands and a no call by the Hawks). It sucks that he was 1 on 1 with Crawford with just the puck and his skates.

Ok, thinking on this... I think he didn't get across what he meant very well. He must think that Dats worked hard to hone his skills and wasn't just blessed by God with hockey skills. Sorry for the inflammatory headline.

Babcock tells players they are soft. Pushes them to play better.

If its one I am thinking of, I think that was like first hit I have seen on Kane all series. I saw someone hit him near top of the circle to the left of Jimmy. Been wanting someone to get an open ice hit on Kane for awhile now, mostly just see near misses on the boards. -
JR is miles ahead of Edzo when trying to give commentary/analysis that isn't clouded by his former affiliations.
-
When that one was thrown in Anaheim didn't it look slimier than normal? Like they didn't know to boil it out there?
-
Thanks for the vid. Does the stick have to break for it to be called a slash? Or is it judgement and even if it doesn't break you can still get a slashing? Breakage means 100%, judgement otherwise?

Came here to say same thing... be better if it helped the Wings when they needed a blow. But I understand its hard to not want to throw it after a huge Wings goal.

NBC kept pointing out last night how Dats would take all the defensive end PK faceoffs then when puck cleared, Emmerton would come out for him. Was that the key to our perfect PK last night? -

Do we need to finance this guy and his son to come to game 4 too? -
Been poking around trying to find a full game online, the breakaway isn't part of any of the condensed highlights.

Oh, I wasn't even drinking last night, I swear! Maybe a mod can change post topic title for me please?

I am curious when the rule changed allowing players to have more than 1 millimeter of their skate in the crease, Holmstrom would have dominated in this day and age of Hockey. 50 goal scorer for multiple years.

Red Wings don't belong in the same rink as the Hawks?

I guess my "hahaha" was too much for you, I will try to refrain from the laughter in future posts. Nothing else in the post was any more jinx worthy than our normal ribbing of Chicago fans or sports radio.
