I am calling for the rare and elusive hard fought 4 game sweep by the Wings. You never hear anybody call any series that goes less than 7 games a hard fought series. Its always if the scrappier, less talented team pulls it out, its in a 7 game series. Seems weird that there are never 4 or 5 game series that all go down to the wire? 4 games, all go to OT, Wings magically win every OT game. With no carnival act shootouts in playoffs, Hawks can't rely on the slo-mo Kane borderline illegal shootout goals to win.

Quenneville was on the score today and they asked him about never beating the Wings in a series... he laughed and said he beat us as an assistant in Colorado in 96 (the year they won the cup) and that season we had like 130 points so it was a big deal to beat us.

Eddie stopped broadcasting Hawks a little bit before playoffs, maybe a month or so? Steve Konroyd took over I think. Not saying it makes it any better, but its not like he did the last regular season Hawks game and then stepped into the booth for the playoffs.

My completely ignorant of most East teams opinion...I think I want the Leafs to win but I think Boston has a better D for later playoff rounds to knock out Pittsburgh.

Some thoughts from last night since I wasn't posting during game: Why did Franzen get the dual penalty for the scrum? And even the Duck who was put in wasn't even the guy who threw a punch (I think it was Allen trying to punch one of the Wings (not even Franzen)... horrible cleanup and penalizing of that fight by the refs. I thought the boarding call that got called on Wings mid game was a bad call, it looked like barely a hit.

I just can't root for the Sharks, too many hated players (Pavelski, Slow Joe, Marleau) and divers (only way I could hate them more is if Setoguchi was still on the team, I kept hoping he would have done better at the Hawks so they could share my hate). I feel like Wings don't have much history or rivalry with Kings, so I am pretty neutral on them. I think one time years ago I had Lubomir Visnovsky on my fantasy team, I think he disappointed me and I thought he was a good sleeper pick

I had to listen to NBC every game so far and I am not even sure its true (cause I feel like they never bothered to show who was calling the game) but it felt like it was Anaheim announcers for every game. Even if it was national guys, there was obvious bias. I am also sort of pissed at NBC that they don't seem to know how to space the 9 o'clock game. Almost every game I had to scramble to find streams to make sure I didn't miss any of the wings. Hopefully its not a problem for this next series, unless they keep trying to put us after Eastern Conf games.

Curious what Howards GAA is if you take away bullcrap goals we gave away to them, like off own players... almost want to take away the giveaway from Flippers that was an easy stuff for Etem.

My blood pressure through the roof in 7 days is my prediction. Debating whether I listen to sports radio or not these next weeks (I am in Illinois so I get Chicago radio). They have already said on the radio (not sure if it was update guy or the 2 hosts) that its a good thing they are facing Detroit instead of Anaheim because they dominated us during the regular season. Really?!! 3 games to OT and 1 blow out, just because you won them all does not equal domination. And isn't there a thing about if you beat a team a lot in regular season, its harder in playoffs? (or maybe thats football). Heaven help my health.

You realize you are talking about the poster boy for the NHL? The rules will change before Crosby gets a diving penalty. They might even enact a end year trophy for best actor before they call him out... Sindy Crosby Trophy.

Wings PK better be perfect or near perfect, I sense a huge make-up game from the refs for the Ducks. Bettman probably called personally and yelled for no Duck's PPs last game and told refs to reverse it for game 7. I also am going to go out on a limb, if we score more goals than Ducks... we win.

Anyone dare predict over/under on Detroit penalties in Anaheim? Refs probably get in trouble for calling none on Detroit tonight.

Anaheim has been doing that set forecheck play (one guy left of jimmy, and 2nd guy 10 feet back on right) all series every time we have puck behind net getting ready to release and it seems like we barely ever break it... not to mention clear dump and chases where we usually lose puck for about 3 minutes as they goon forecheck cycle us with their gorilla forwards.

And the stupid only 4 eliminations at home out of 21 stat they just had to show earlier has a chance to F us up. I just hate when they mention streaks or shutouts or s*** on TV. Stupid talking heads.

National announcers didn't mention or show any Perry trip on Quincey.

Too bad there are never suspensions in this league for after whistle thuggery or fighting... because Ducks are probably gonna lose their cool.
