Good point. I need to have my mood turned around for the rest of this game! -

I am not even sure my blood pressure or heart can take a series against the Hawks anyway. And with how much announcers are mentioning Corey Perry not having a goal yet and being snake bitten every other breath every game of this series, I guarantee they are de-jinxing him as we speak for a game winner. -

Can the Wings ever face a goalie in the playoffs who implodes and lets in like 4 or 5? Ever goalie we face in a playoff series ends up having the best series of their lives. Maybe its the Wings who just don't have super scorers like other teams and we shoot every puck into the guys chest. Unbelievable. -
Maybe the Skull and Bones society.
-
Also whenever these offensive powerhouses put even a modicum of effort in defense, people go nuts and give them so much credit. Think of all the value he is leaving on the table by not even giving 10% effort on D.
-
Not cool calling timeout up 4 to 1 against their third string goalie. Quenneville dick move.
-
Maybe my brain is just contrarian but in this day and age of parity, getting swept actually makes me think something else was at play. Sweeps seem rare in this day and age, but this is completely anecdotal and the stats probably don't back me up
-
Am I the only one thinking this is the best refereed series so far? Refs are actually letting these two teams play some tough hockey.

What if a Shark player dives and hits his head on ice and gets concussion like symptoms? Will Shanahan give him a suspension? (Sort of like Corey Perry dorking himself in the face with his own stick). I am sure nearest opposing player even if they are 3 feet away will get the penalty.

Pretty sure they had a good excuse when they lost their top goaltender Backstrom in game 1 warmups... it just pisses me off that Hawks not only get to face their backup, now they get to face the backup's backup. And I wanted Canucks to win because I thought they had talent to beat Hawks in a less physical/more skill based series... but they are sucking now. Please choke Hawks, I can't stand the bandwagon chelsea dagger fans, ugh.

Yeah, didn't mean to start a debate. I was merely pointing out (not skillwise) that we have big guys who look as big as Hossa but don't look like they are being slow and lazy. Franzen and Bert actually look like they are trying to hustle on the ice whereas Hossa doesn't look like that yet still produces more.
-
I never said different, I just said he doesn't really seem to try very hard. Maybe he looks effortless, but to me it looks like fat and slow hockey with just a quick and skilled stick. Heh, local Hawks feed "I don't know if Harding is really hurt or trying to draw a penalty" fast forward to replay, Toews is completely laying on top of him pinning him to ground in awkward legs splayed save position. No comment from announcers.
-
The problem is he shouldn't have to please anybody, he should be 100% consistent (or his little band of merry men who come to the decisions) and they shouldn't listen to Bettman and his bulls*** stars have to be on the ice. It would be a lot better for the league if people understood what was going on, it was consistent, and there wasn't any one playing favorites. its even worse that it seems like he is harder on Detroit because he has to be to avoid looking like a homer... usually Detroit plays one of the cleaner games in the league, they have to or they'd be hit with suspensions left and right.
-
I mean we have Franzen and Bert who are bigger guys but they seem like they at least hustle a bit more.
-
Well this is a Sens - Habs thread, just not the game thread, its the MMA thread.
-
I know Hossa seems to have a good stick but he just looks so big and fat and slow on the ice, I don't understand how he is actually involved in some plays unless he just cherry picks.

Which things from the past (not just Wings related) do you miss most?
Rhah replied to frankgrimes's topic in General
Dino Ciccarelli For some reason in my memory banks, right or wrong they may be... I consider him the signature screen guy in front of the net getting deflections and garbage goals even more than Holmstrom is known for it. I don't know why but that is how I remember him. Or maybe it was from playing NHL 92 on Sega... -

There's a zombie behind him sitting... -
So Sedin not even getting a fine for that? At least, Webber got fined.

I was a bit embarrassed by their play at the Joe for first home game of this series. I hope they redeem themselves. -
Yeah glad that Harding to a playoff win.
-
Subban should get more suspensions than the rest. He must have been all pouty that he wasn't on the ice for the 5 on 5, so next opportunity he is on ice, he immediately gets in a fight.
