I don't understand why more focus wasn't brought about Babcock's comments about 2 of the least penalized teams in the league and all of a sudden Nash and Detroit are getting penalties called left and right all series? (did they have the most called in first 5 games of all the matchups?) We really should have been swept 4 to 0 with all the PPs that Nash had and considering they were the number 1 PP in the reg. season.

If we play Phoenix, then Raffi Torres knocks Zetterberg instead who then might have long term concussion issues... and if it was a Detroit guy getting hit, Shanahan would have let Torres off with a fine because he doesn't want to be seen as playing favorites. Buttman would have backed him up too saying it was a hockey play and people are blowing it out of proportion.

I agree with an earlier poster that its unfathomable that the Refs didn't do more work to figure out what happened. In fact, don't they sit there and almost make goalies undress sometimes to find a lost puck? Because they don't want random extra pucks flying out of someone's pants in the middle of a play? If they had made Pecker Rinay undress, it would have demoralized team or else made them admit they had puck on the bench thus allowing Refs to figure out something fishy went on (as in somebody picked up the puck, even if they weren't smart enough to know it was picked up in crease, even though that would be only reason for someone to... or would only Matlock figure this out?) I think its obvious that Pho-Chi refs and Nash-Det refs are going to be playing some golf early this year...

Every game this series seems like every single in-tight, quick centering pass close to the net is missing players sticks for the Wings... either they whiff or it just goes right by them.

Am I only one who thinks its crazy that if a player is going off on a stretcher or bleeding his guts out onto the ice that the refs can't go and look at tape during downtime and assess a penalty (if there is one, which in those cases I'd assume there is if a player is that injured)? I am not for every single play to need to review simple penalties but gross game misconducts like that? Why not check the tape and make the right call? You can't flop down to the ice and fake blacking out or bleeding from your arteries... so no way to cheese system. Get the call right. The fact that Phoenix went on PP after that is sickening to a fan of wanting equal-footed competitive hockey.

Tippett tried to compare Torres hit to Kronwall's hits at his press conference. Except I don't recall Kronwall leaving his skates to get upward momentum/angle into guys heads. He just finishes his checks right through the guy laterally.
