If he's still the best defenseman on the team then he'll probably be paid like it. Kronwall's cap hit is what, around 4 mil? Then let's hope they can re-sign Nick for 4.5 mil if he doesn't retire. EDIT: Okay Kronner's cap hit is 4.75 mil. Then let's hope for a 5 mil cap hit for Nick if he decides to play one more year.

Well it's Babs' job to focus hard on the positive and have the mindset to just keep building on that. But I wonder if there's ever been as big of a disparity between fans perceptions and brass perceptions. They're usually wide in general but I wonder if this year is especially wide.

I hope Kenny's watching the other teams who have a bottom six filled with guys who play extremely hard, can skate really quickly and are more than solid defensively. I mean, the guys aren't even that big. It seems like a lot of them are around 6'0 or 5'11 but they get the job done in the playoffs.

Just thought about 2009 and 2010 today... Because of the team that won the cup I don't know if I'll ever be able to not feel some disdain for the 2009 Flyers and the 2010 Predators for blowing it against their first round opponents when they could have really stepped on their necks. -
I don't know if there's any chance of this or what but If the new CBA allows for a veteran's minimum that does not count against the cap (like in the NBA) then how awesome would that be for a player like Lidstrom?

I guess Pittsburgh was due for a performance like this. It's crazy that they have the modern-day versions of Gretzky (Sid) and Mario Lemieux (Malkin). How crazy would it have been decades ago if you had Gretzky and Mario Lemieux on the same team? -
