Will we ever see the day where a young talent simply snaps and goes outright publicly HAM against the Wings development philosophy? The stereotype is that hockey players are so down to earth and humble but you always got your handful of individuals who have a little bit of a screw loose. One of these days I wonder if a young but established NHL player will ever just lose his mind and any sense of class and publicly rants to the media, "Yeah, I'm glad I didn't get drafted by Detroit. I played one year in juniors after I got drafted, two years in the AHL; for all my years scored in the top 20 in my respective leagues, worked on my overall game, went to training camp and earned a full-time roster spot. More or less, that's how it should be. I didn't have management that played favorites. I didn't have management that tried to reduce my salary negotiating power by trapping me in the minors so I couldn't earn a bigger and more fair contract for my abilities with NHL experience and a decent opportunity to prove myself. I didn't have to deal with that BS and I'm thankful to the X organization for not tossing out some bullcrap about being overripe. You ever tried eating an overripe fruit? It's disgusting." Would that person be 100% right? Hell no. But I wouldn't be surprised if perhaps one of these days during perhaps a rivalry playoff series that a player on the opposing team tries to stir the pot that way.

With the OP, I didn't necessarily mean young talent in the Red Wings system. I'm talking about young talent in ANY organization who looks back and publicly says, "I kind of dodged a bullet when Detroit didn't draft me. They're a top notch organization but so are the (insert good team here) or the (insert another good team here) and they reward their young talent better by not playing them in the minors longer than necessary." Obviously that player will be wrong for saying such things publicly for everybody and their grandmother to hear but it's not exactly unimaginable.

Tatar sounds about right. Nyquist has to be higher. Has to be. He may put on a brave face and pull off the patented Swedish humility but I wouldn't be surprised if deep down a part of his competitive spirit wants to run this organization into the ground for crappy "asset management."

On a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being "TRADE ME NOW OR I WILL TAKE A BAT TO CLEARY'S ACLs and MCLs!!!"), how badly do you guys think Tatar and Nyquist want the Wings to trade them somewhere, anywhere?
