Ugh... Honestly, my initial reaction to that question feels as if it has the same sentiment as which would you rather have, chlamydia or gonorrhea? But I honestly do get the spirit you intended behind the question and I agree with your answer. I just despise both players these days. If they were to ever come on board as Red Wings then we'll see what happens. The 'most severe' case of this phenomenon in my lifetime was the conversion of Chris Chelios. Believe it or not, in his case I still mostly say, "I support whoever wears the Winged Wheel" instead of someone like say Zetterberg who I'm extremely happy is a Red Wing.

I have some pretty high hopes for GR with the arrival of Calle Jarnkrok for next year. And hopefully a full-time (no scratches ever) role for Teemu Pulkkinen.

I don't know... I'm still not sure whether or not he's ready for a 3rd/4th line role on the Wings. He may not even be ready to sit in the press box game after game after game until he qualifies for a conditioning stint in GR... It's a lot of responsibility people. I have a hopefully fun idea for a thread. I thought about what a Red Wings lineup would look like if we applied their current strengths and weaknesses to other major sports. For example, Pavel Datsyuk is quick and shifty and thus might make a good running back. Remember when Marty Turco compared him to Barry Sanders? Pretty self-explanatory. I also have to say this as a forewarning: I really, REALLY do not want this thread to drift even the slightest towards a discussion about how the MLB is corrupt, how the NBA is fixed or how the NFL is crooked. My genuine intention is to have this be about the sports games themselves. Basketball ***I don't know the exact numbers but my experience tells me that a lot of teams use an 8-man rotation out of a 12-man roster. So I just want to get into who would make up my 8-man rotation. Starting Lineup: Point Guard: Pavel Datsyuk (Playmaker. Guy you want to handle the ball the most. Easy selection.) Shooting Guard: Henrik Zetterberg (Can create plays for himself/others.) Small Forward: Johan Franzen (Can bull his way into the lane and absorb contact.) Power Forward: Niklas Kronwall - (Good footwork. Also a threat from the outside with a good shot.) Center: Jimmy Howard (Oftentimes the last line of defense.) Bench: Point Guard: Gustav Nyquist (Another quick and good playmaker.) Shooting Guard/Small Forward: Darren Helm (Defensive stopper off the bench.) Center: Jonathan Ericsson (Provides an interior defensive presence and physical play.) Baseball ***It is baseball season after all! I don't have a huge knowledge of baseball. I didn't really get into who I would want for all the different kinds of pitchers and pinch hitters/runners, etc. Anyone interested is more than welcome to add their opinions about those positions. And I say this with absolute seriousness and not a single morsel of sarcasm: I'd love to see Stevie Y just somehow take control over 30 owners each with billions, gagillions and faffillions amounts of money.
