I agree with this. It feels good to see them win right now. At the same time, in order for them to be unquestionable cup contenders in this competitive league today, I feel like they're going to need another guy who can play tough on the puck down low and create space for everyone else.

I compiled some notes from George Malik as he made some observations at the Red Wings Prospect Camp from July 7 - July 14. However, Malik's ability to assess real talent is pretty much as good as any Wings fan who has an amateur knowledge of the game and a strong interest in Wings prospects. If a fan of that sort had access to the prospects camp they could probably come up with similar notes.

That win was quite weird. The Bruins played a great game that seems like it can be quite effective in the playoffs. I'm not saying the Wings need to be a lot more like the Bruins but I think a lot of teams, not just the Wings, would like to get a little bigger and stronger. I'd like to add a young, perhaps unpolished up and coming talent in the mold of Brooks Laich or Ryane Clowe. I feel like adding that kind of guy is definitely one way to push the Wings into top contender status.
