Well... At least LGW.com is bumping with activity. Woo!
-
Haha... Oh Commie... Get ready to ride the pine after that s***.
-
The top six is no spring chicken. They're not really old but in this day and age where every game is fast and competitive maybe they're just all... meh...
-
They probably are though.
-
Man how is it that now that we're losing we have a GDT that reaches 20 pages easily.
-
I'm not so sure. NHL has no standard these days. Shanny might think the 5 and a game is enough of a punishment.
-
Off with Stewart's head. Now.
-
To throw Ian Hwite's productive effectiveness in your face for a temporary boost of self-esteem and feeling of superiority. Duh...
-
Has Shanny not been as generous with the suspensions lately? Just curious.
-
Who's the closest player on the Sabres to being an effective enforcer?
-
Serious question even though is sounds like a joke. What's the difference between the Dallas trap and the Minnesota trap?

So right now through 15 games Fil is on pace for 70 points. I'm still not sure whether or not I simply want to make an evaluation based mostly on his tangible track record right now (as in, he officially hasn't passed the 40 point mark) or perhaps make a judgment with more of an emphasis on the current pace. Right now I feel like I still want to default on my guess from the beginning of the season (52-55) points. The data as of right now though is interesting. You're mean.

Some other fine and fun moments from the former Spartan.
-
Miller should have done this.

Some more quotes about Fil's recent good play. Zetterberg echoes the sentiment of Fil's biggest fans: Fil also makes an interesting tidbit about the differences between playing center and wing. As a former center myself, I feel like I can relate to the idea but I don't think I've ever heard it in these exact words. Z makes another good point. Now that Fil has somebody on his line to easy a little bit of his defensive worries he perhaps has more freedom to think offensively. It's too bad that doesn't work as well when say Franzen is the backup first guy back. Fil obviously feels he has to worry more about defense when it's not Pav or Z. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2011/11/red_wings_reaping_benefits_of.html

I feel like Pav took a step forward last night in terms of getting back to the level of impact he wants to have on an every game basis. Played well defensively and had some close calls offensively. It's as if he's right there ready to breakout like no other.

Huh... I guess I'm on a Filppula update binge. His scouting report on forecaster.ca is much different. The bolded parts are the new updates.
-
Seems like that's all anyone has to watch for if they want to strictly go by the numbers.
-
Excuse me, sir. I believe you mean, "Where ARE your updates?" Yeah. Show some grammatical respect for the cult of trolls at LGW. They keep this website afloat with activity.
-
What a pass by Z. So awesome.
-
I don't mean to bash Big E too much. In all seriousness, overall he played a good game. That picture though is just too funny.
-
Pittsburgh seems to be doing quite well without Crosby. How are they doing it?
-
Filppula versus Datsyuk Keep Away! Not an intense battle by any stretch of the imagination but still fun to watch.

Why does the initial call have so much influence on questionable goals? Does the ref have to absolutely make an initial call on the ice? Would it be better at times if the ref could observe the play, witness the questionable goal and just say they'll look at it upstairs instead of defaulting on an initial call?

Questionable for tonight's game. "Middle-body injury." I'm sure everyone is thinking it's his back again.
