9/30 Exhibition GDT: Toronto Maple Leafs at Red Wings
Red Wings Addict replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Haha... f*** Dan O'Halloran.... -
This one's newer. Duhhh.
-
When Crosby comes back I'm pretty sure Bettman will institute that everybody, including the refs, must stay at least 5 feet away from him.
-
He seems hungry. Almost as if Ikea is offering free meals if he plays well.

I like Nyquist's patience with the puck. Or at least the patience he showed in this game. I hope we see him and Zetterberg on the same line one day. Those two could be like Helm and Draper in terms of the young with the new. -

Ericsson had an A on his jersey. What is that supposed to stand for? This should be fun. -

Two things... -How will the Smith suspension work? The Wings will have to call him up just so he can sit out the games? Or can he serve an "equivalent" suspension in the AHL? Plus, I think it's funny how Smith idolized Shanahan so much since they're both from around Mimico, Ontario I believe. Now he's gonna get punished by his idol, haha. -Anyone want to start a panic thread about Ericsson? "ERICSSON SUCKZ. FLAT OUT FREEKIN TEH SUCK!" -
Kronwall is pretty injury prone though. Not liking the sound of that at all.

I knew he would get to this thread eventually. I am actually thankful we got some decent data and responses before he did. Most seem to think a breakout year for him is the 60+ point range, which I personally think is a little high for Fil. Right now he just doesn't seem capable of that kind of offensive consistency, ESPECIALLY if he has to play center. And for this year, most seem to think he'll land in the 45-55 range. I think a legitimately valid breakout year for him is the 52-55 range but only a 60+ regular season as well as a typical (at least) performance from him in the playoffs will really shut everybody up about Fil. Not a ppg pace that leads to 60 points. Not 16 point in 17 games or whatever. And those really aren't my "beliefs" but moreso an observation of Red Wings forums.

Don't poke the hockey injury Gods. They will poke the Wings back in the ass. -
Yeah it shouldn't be a big deal but still... f*** Matt Cooke. I hope God allows a few minutes for Cooke in heaven just to meet Probert and Boogaard in a "quiet room." "What uuup, Cookie-monster??? Isn't great to be in heaven? Well, too bad, because you're going to hell after we're done with you - You're on Punk'd! BAM!!!"

Why shock her when you can spock her?

Numbers to be placed on FRONT and back of helmet

I was hoping the numbers on the helmet were going to be about the Lokomotiv team. -
Cleary out for rest of preseason, hopes to be ready Oct. 7

It's a problem that's going to really impact every team, imo. Everything is so close. The game is arguably more competitive these days than it has ever been. -

That's pretty much how it goes. At least we got a little vacation when he went to HF with that nonsense. Back to LGW reality I guess.

I hope we get an update on Pav and his wrist sometimes soon. I also was concerned when he said in that interview that it still bothered him.

NHL Prospect Camp & Detroit Red Wings Camp
Red Wings Addict replied to Dimaline312000's topic in General
Glad to hear that you guys had good experiences and that the players were nice. -
I think this will be his fourth (or third) chance. 08-09; 09-10; 10-11 and now this year. I say third maybe because Babs was hell bent on playing Fil at center and even moreso about splitting up the twins when the Wings signed Hossa. I know players are supposed to take jobs in order to move up but Fil was definitely not going to displace Pav, Z, Mule, or Hossa; Babs was also pretty stubborn about keeping Homer and Pav together; which left one spot in the top six available and for much of the year it was Cleary's because he earned it first of all along with the fact that they had more than enough skill in the top six and needed another Homer-type.

Sarcasm. -
A line of Nyquist-Andersson-Brunnstrom could be quite something in Grand Rapids. All three have something to prove. -Nyquist wants to show that he can play at an NHL level. -Andersson, who some of the Wings staff consider as a lock for the NHL, wants to prove them right and have a big jump in his game offensively. -Brunnstrom, of course, just wants to be a Red Wing and a good NHL pro instead of just another bust with expired potential.

No way Ericsson-Kindl is an opening night pairing? -
I can understand why he missed that. He's thriving on youth and energy and is very much on the edge right now. If he was a little more calm and collected he probably would have buried it but that comes with experience. It was so wide open and then all of sudden they see him and he feels extremely rushed and panics a little. It's understandable.

He looked small out there but he's got a year in GR to get his body in a place where he's more bulked up but can also still skate well and do the things he likes to do out there.
