To me, the dmen are a lot more likely to be set in stone than the forwards for sure. I don't have a dobberhockey account to back it up, but I'm positive that Stuart was always Lidstrom primary partner if both were healthy. Same went for Kronwall and Salei (RIP); as well as Ericsson and Rafalski. I mean, hopefully someone can correct me if I'm wrong but those pairings seriously just didn't really change all that much.

Maybe. I guess I need to see the fight first. Because he does sometimes play the kind of quiet, hardworking style with a grinding element that can really piss you off like Helm or perhaps playoff Zetterberg. He doesn't really say much or talk trash but when you get beat a lot in battles, races or whatever, that can really piss off an opponent and then they can just snap at you and force you to fight. For all I know, Andersson could have just been hanging on until the guy punched out all his energy.

I was thinking of the same comparison to Samuelsson but he added some real grit to his game though. We have yet to see Brunnstrom truly show that he's willing to throw some hits. He's got an attitude that he just wants to be a part of the organization. We'll find out how willing he really is because if he can't make enough of an impact with his scoring ability and then he's going to have to use those same skills to do other things. If you can think like an offensive player then there's not much in the way of knowing what other offensive players think and using that knowledge to your advantage on the defensive end like Babs often says.

Two out of three of those players have drawn comparisons to Zetterberg. Jimmy Howard, obviously an alum and huge fan of Maine's hockey program, referred to Nyquist as a "poor man's Zetterberg". Hakan Andersson referred to Joakim Andersson as a third line version of Zetterberg or something to that effect.

This might be sad on my end but part of me hopes that they all escaped the plane somehow and they're all having their own Lost series somewhere. Or that this is all just a practical joke. Because this is just unbelievable to me. Just like that a group of people are dead and their families are all left in mourning. It just sucks.

I'm glad my internet connection sucks right now because I told myself I wouldn't click it and then I did but it wouldn't load. I remember Pronger in that series way too well... f***in' idiot.

My sense is an overwhelming majority of us on here still dislike him to a great degree but also feel a pure desire towards a successful recovery for him so that he can return to the game as a top player in the league.

That series just pissed me off the whole time and I don't look back on it fondly. No way that should have gone 7 games. Plus, Brad Watson is a huge moron. Also, how was Pronger allowed to literally wrestle Hossa to the ice right in front of the ref? Plus that series really brought out the worst in Franzen. Not production-wise but rather his tendency to really embellish.

Definitely my favorite goal of that series. It just screamed, "We won't be denied!" Plus anytime you can really own Patrick Roy with a goal is a bonus as well.

Well for me the Flyers series is more memorable to me than the 2002 Avs series. It just is. Can't fully explain why. I mean, I wish they had a view where you could just watch Lidstrom and Murphy at work. To me that footage should be viewed by every young puck moving defensemen along with other examples as well. The San Jose series? Maybe. I mostly remember being pissed the f*** off, haha. Not as pissed as San Jose 2010 but still.

Maybe this doesn't make me a "die hard" fan but I'm not as much of a "competitive series" sort of guy like some of you guys on here. I voted for the Flyers series with no hesitation. I would much, much rather watch the Wings dominate a supposedly superior opponent. Especially since, at that time, the Flyers were supposed to run over the Red Wings. It was awesome to watch the Wings outsmart and outwill the Flyers in four games.

At work today I came across an actual Cindy Crosby. I know the world probably has a good number of them but it was still worth a chuckle.

I wonder if the Wings will have "Rusty" and "Beast" on their helmets or jerseys. Or some form of tribute to them on the uniforms.
