You could afford it if you lived in Anaheim. A buddy of mine who lives in LA said tickets to game 5 were going for $25 yesterday. I'll continue to use air quotes when referring to ducks "fans."

i'm sure this has been typed five times at least but i just saw the game-winner on the dvr so i have to say how about nyquist and brunner each with an overtime gw goal!? they can do this. maybe in game five if they get 42 odd-man rushes they can convert one!

my favorite part about the gw goal (besides that it was the gw goal) is that it was #10 for the lame ducks who got burned by flip's excellent toe drag delay move before he dished it to gus. i'm gonna focus on how well gus and brunner played rather than the breakdowns that led to the ducks getting back in the game.

good point. nyquist and brunner like to bring it on the rush. i'd love nothing more than those 2 to zip in on hiller early and ruin his night. well, maybe to see #13 embarrass him would be equally as cool...

points isn't their only purpose. and they've been winning with this lineup. and i just eyeballed the last 6 stat sheets - gus and andersson are even on +/- and brunner's a +2 over the last 6 games. that's not bad for a bunch of kids.

gotta agree. the idiots on nhl network last night were saying the wings don't have the depth the ducks have, and that the first two lines are pretty close. they way the 3rd and 4th lines are playing lately i disagree totally with their assessment of this series. of course, i'm arguing with tv tools, so i guess i shouldn't have posted this...

that's a fine idea, although i don't think bert plays like a grinder. he would be great to absorb punishment from the goonish ducks if he was healthy.

I think they've needed a couple of power forwards for about 4 years and it hasn't happened yet. I guess Kenny Holland thinks Franzen is one. Sadly, I think he's mistaken. Not that I'm comfortable with bashing Holland after all the great teams he's put on the ice. This just seems to be a case where he's not on the right track at all. The wings desperately need power guys.

I missed part of the game, but did eddie olczyk really go an entire wings game without bitching about the springy end boards implying that the wings are somehow cheaters because of this? nice job.

Since he's a cybernetic super-human sent from the future to win the wings multiple cups, I think he's coming back. As far as I'm concerned I don't care if he's 800 years old. He's the best defenseman I've ever seen play the game and he can come back if he wants to. I understand those who want him to take a pay cut, but I still have blind allegiance thanks to all the great games he's played wearing the winged wheel and because he's played his entire career in detroit. I've gotta agree with you. His lapse in Game 4 was totally uncharacteristic of his play over the last couple of years. We can count on Jimmy, people. Maybe Nashville starts to think they smell blood in the water, they take more shots, Jimmy stays warm and involved in the game like Rinne Tuesday, and the Wings get those couple of odd-man rushes that equal a win. Maybe I'm doing some wishful thinking, but it's worth it. LGW!

Don't know if anybody said this already, but how could there be empty seats throughout the game? Have people gotten that complacent? I know the city has seen some tough times, but they can't fill the joe for the playoffs? People leaving early too. It's kind of pitiful. That place should be rockin' for the entire 60 minutes. This series is just becoming a bummer.

I love the golf reference this time of year. Especially when referring to a guy who'll be golfing soon.

You're judging this as if the Wings were unprofessional goons. This team has seen this kind of bulls*** many times and the players are disciplined enough to know this can work in their favor big time. If weber's willing to snap like that from a pretty weak hit from z, he'll crack when his team is losing game 2 4-1 in the 2nd period. The guy's a douchebag. He'll make a mistake and it'll cost his team in the end, even if the league dropped the ball on this "fine." They call this guy a captain? Nick Lidstrom, please show this moron how a captain wins a Stanley Cup.

I know everybody cheats on faceoffs, but gaustad hasn't put his stick on the ice the entire game, including that last win. Oh, and weber should miss 2 games for that garbage.

I'm super excited for the second season this year! Had to listen to game one of the Phoenix series from the hospital last year. Sucked. Let's see if Helm can welcome himself back tonight with an OT winner. Maybe a long shot, but this series promises to be tight, so somebody might have to win it for the Wings in OT. LGW!
