John Shannon @JSportsnet Appears the Owners are on way back to the Hotel...and they will meet again tonight.
-
progress has reportedly been made. they are meeting again tonight after dinner break. color me shocked
-
let's just say i had a really bad experience years back that turned me off ever hanging out in detroit after games again
-
the history alone makes it one of the most special rinks in the league. i doubt it. i just hope it's not called amway arena
-
agreed. me and my buddies have it down to a tee
-
i've probably been to a hundred games or so over the last 20 years so i dunno maybe i'm just used to the small seats lol
-
for me, the view of the ice is by far the most important thing to me. the other stuff i can deal with. but then again i don't think i am the typical fan when it comes to going to sporting events. first off, i am smaller than the average person so the cramping of the seats isn't really a big deal for me. i usually don't buy food or beverage at the arena and i can usually hold off on the bathroom until after i leave the arena. when the game is over, i get the hell of out of detroit as fast as i can lol
-
it's already been confirmed that the next winter classic is going to be played at the big house http://redwings.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=84540
-
agreed. it's going to be so weird seeing the wings playing in an arena other than the joe i just hope they can maintain the good sight lines that the joe has. i honesty don't care about all the new bells and whistles of a new arena. i just want to be able to get a good view of the game

nhlpa's scouting report on today's session with owners. i love the one about jacobs lol http://www.downgoesb...rs-meeting.html
-
there are some pretty outspoken players on that list. i hope something comes out of this but i seriously doubt it
-
according to this steve burton guy, the lockout could almost be over and an annoucnement could come tuesday or wednesday http://boston.cbsloc...ng-nhl-lockout/ i'm not getting my hopes up though. i do find it odd though that none of the tsn/espn guys have jumped on this story to either confirm or shoot it down.
-
if that's the case, then why do the players care if they get a good cba or not. they will be playing hockey all the same a good article by custance on decertification. the most telling quote it's time for these other owners to step up and get a deal done. where have the rangers, leafs, canadians owners, and illitch been this whole time? here's an example why wasn't he involved when this lockout first started?
-
which will only mean more anger and mistrust between the 2 sides. that equals a guaranteed lockout. both sides need to clean house and start over when this is done. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=410857 this meeting is looking more and more like a waste of time with every passing minute.
-
ha. i doubt they would ever show a rival league's games. the only thing i like about the nhl network during the offseason is when they show classic red wings games or their classic series episodes that involve the wings.
-
they should televise that lol. i wonder if the players would have the guts to tell them they're idiots to their faces.
-
they have decided to meet and it only took 3 days to decide the bad news: nothing is going to get done with jacobs in the room. no Snider, Dolan, Molson, Rutherford, illitch or wirtz at the meeting is pretty telling. it will just be another wasted day at the office.
-
this is ridiculous. it should not take 48 hrs to decide to meet someone or not. the lack of urgency displayed by both sides during this entire lockout has been pathetic.
-
from the article when the board of governors (AKA the owners) selected him. otherwise i agree with his premise that bettman needs to go. regardless of whether he's doing the owners bidding or not, his image alone is a bad one for the league. as marketing 101 goes: "perception = reality"
-
if people want a single person to blame on the league side it should be jeremy jacobs, owner of the bruins and head of the negotiating committee. that guy is 10x worse than bettman is.
-
if the players don't care then why do they keep blaming bettman??? article debating the benefits of a player/owners only meeting
-
both sides are being greedy.
-
the next step will be decertifcation, which will effectively end this season and possibly at least part of the next season
-
bettman wants to have an owners/players meeting without any of league/nhlpa leadership brass present http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=410527
