hopefully it is. i have a feeling that the winter classic being cancelled might have woken some of the players up in realzing that the owners aren't bluffing the problem i see is that, simliar to bettman, fehr, has has almost unlimited power so if he's on his own agenda, there's nothing that the players can really do about it. http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/nhl/article/1265993--nhl-lockout-don-t-expect-a-mutiny-in-the-nhlpa-cox just something to keep in mind also this from strickland

NHL Officially Cancels 2013 Winter Classic

that is interesting. i doubt that they had already planned on cancelling the event when they were designing the logo but they might've had a potential lockout on their minds

NHL Officially Cancels 2013 Winter Classic

yea i'm in quite a bind myself. as much as i despise anything nhl related right now, i know i'm going to regret it by the time next year rolls around if i give back my tickets. i already paid off the tickets on my credit card months ago so the money isn't really an issue for me.

NHL Officially Cancels 2013 Winter Classic

i'm not surprised they are offering a refund since that has been stated on the page ever since the event was announced but i was shocked that they are also refunding service and processing fees as well

NHL Officially Cancels 2013 Winter Classic

in that case i think a better way to put it is, the players have less to lose than the owners. the problem is that i don't think the owners are going to cave. not with those hardline owners in there.

NHL Officially Cancels 2013 Winter Classic

i disagree. the longer this plays out the less each side is going to gain due to loss revenue. the players need those casual fans just as much as the owners do. if owners don't make money, the players aren't getting paid either.

Unified, players roll with punches i wish both sides would put away their pride and egos and get a deal done for the sake of hockey. i don't think either side realizes the long term damage this lockout is going to cause.

i agree. what leipold did puts a really big stain on the owners image. can't believe that he is on the negotating committee. but my impressions from reading some of these quotes by players is that they act like they have always gotten every penny of their contracts in the past cba, which isn't true. i think it just shows how misinformed some of these players are.

What's kind of funny about that is that the players have never been guaranteed the money due to the escrow system that they negotiated in the last cba. The only money that they have ever been guaranteed is signing bonuses.
