Selanne would put us over the top and make winning a cup that much easier. Homer, Lids, Selanne and maybe Bert would retire happy men. I don't understand why anyone WOULDN'T want Selanne on this team..he's a phenomenal player and he and FIl have a great relationship (really close friends). We could trade a 1st and a good prospect for him and win the cup... Really, a trade for Selanne would be awesome.

I say trade Stuart at the deadline, or if you want him for the cup run, trade him at the draft. There's no doubt that he wants out, and there's no point in letting him go for nothing. At the deadline: Stuart + Kindl + Hudler + 1st/2nd for Ryan + Lydman At the draft: Stuart for Lydman Or keep him for the cup run and go after Ruutu, something like Ferraro + 2nd for Ruutu. Morrow would be nice too.

There is so much crying going on over at the Blues board. They are convinced that the NBC announcers are in love with the Red Wings, that Stuart should be suspended for his hit, and that Howard instigated the fight at the end. Also that Helm should have had a penalty when Carlo got called, and that Franzen's goal should have been discounted.

Hudler is playing great this season. Whether he's trade bait for an elite top 6 forward or we keep him, I'm happy.

Why would you be happy that players are injured? C'mon, get off your high horse. I'd rather Pittsburgh be 8th in the conference with a full, healthy roster. Now THAT would be sweet. But when half their team is injured? No. It's boring hockey and it sucks to play against them too.

Ryan will take less than Perry and Getzlaf..who are both the face of the franchise. Perry is a defending Rocket Richard winner....it'll be easier to get Ryan because those two other players are much more important to the Ducks.

I don't get why everyone here wants Perry or Getzlaf. First of all, Perry is a huge ****** and Datsyuk FOUGHT him...only fight in his career. No thanks, I don't want that ******* on the Wings. As for Getzlaf, he's good but he's mainly a playmaker and he's very lazy. Also, don't people realize how much it would take to get either of these guys? They're both the face of the franchise...we should be targeting Ryan. Great RW with a nice shot who will work hard in the corners. A line of Franzen - Datsyuk - Ryan would be amazing.......and Ryan would be much, much, easier to get. Plus he's not a douchebag.

Trade Stuart, a couple picks (e.g. 1st + 2nd), and a prospect for Dustin Brown and Alec Martinez at the deadline? Would be good IMO, yes we would lost out on defence but Brown is a great upgrade offensively and finally provides a winger that Datsyuk can rely on to bury the chances he gets. Martinez isn't bad and maybe they want something more for him, but I do think we need to at least grab some sort of Dman in the deal. This trade is good for both teams IMO, gives LA a good dman to rely on (and maybe he'll perform better there - close to family etc), a couple good picks, and a prospect (e.g. Tatar) that could turn out to be great. Gives us an elite scoring winger and a good dman. Thoughts?

I agree. Honestly, you can't even say anything bad on these boards, because everyone just flames you for overreacting and being an 'entitled' fan. Well, I'm not overreacting. I'm not angry that they won't make the playoffs, and I'm not raging over the play. I'm simply pointing out the possibility. In the Cap Era, every team has to rebuild, no matter how good you are. And right now this team needs an injection of youth talent and players that work hard.
