Could we miss the playoffs? I have no doubt that we'll eventually pick it up, but if we lost 10 or more straight..it will be nearly impossible to make those points up.

Bertuzzi should be benched. He is abysmal right now and does not deserve ANY minutes...let alone top-six minutes.......Fil was actually playing really well, why not put him on the Z line???

We need Zach Parise. Let's just pray that he makes it to free agency, or we can trade for him at the deadline. But the fact remains that a line of Parise - Datsyuk - Franzen would be absolutely phenomenal and allow Zetterberg to center that second line again. He's the pure sniper we're missing.

Well I'm pretty sure the 3rd and 4th lines will be playing equal minutes anyway, so it doesn't matter in the end. You could switch it up and make Homer - Abby - Bert the 4th line instead, but it's not nearly as good defensively as Helm's line. I think that we should keep that first line intact, because it did have that one scoring streak and we REALLY need Hudler to produce at this point. Maybe switch Cleary out with Franzen, but I think we need Z to anchor the second line for sure. If Hudler still ends up sucking on that 1st line, then we can shake it up and throw him on the 3rd. But for starting the season, I think this is a good lineup. Hudler - Datsyuk - Cleary Filppula - Zetterberg - Franzen Mursak - Helm - Eaves Holmstrom/Miller - Abdelkader - Bertuzzi Emmerton Sounds good to me. I would absolutely love to see Hudler play goalie

No. In my opinion, the lines should be: Hudler - Datsyuk - Cleary (This line was amazing last year and we NEED Hudler to produce in order to increase his trade value) Filppula - Zetterberg - Franzen Holmstrom - Abdelkader - Bertuzzi Mursak - Helm - Eaves Emmerton And if Brunnstrom manages to make the roster, I think he should be placed on the top 6 in place of Filppula. But I don't really see that happening, so I'll stick with these lines.

Notice that the thread title says 'bold' predictions? That's what I did. And I guess I'm wrong about Franzen I'll change that to 40 pts. God, why do you need to s*** on everyone elses predictions so much?

- Helm gets 40 points with 20 goals - Datsyuk stays healthy and has a breakout season, scoring 100+ points and 35 goals - Franzen has a bad season and only scores 50 points - Hank scores 90+ points - Smith beats out Commodore for the 7th defenseman and has a breakout season - Mursak gets a permanent role on the Wings and beats out Miller - Jurco shows an incredible work ethic at camp but isn't quite good enough to make the roster (however he makes it in 2012-2013) - Holland makes a huge trade at the trade deadline for a top 3 forward and Franzen is part of the deal

I dont get it. How exactly are they so much better? They lost 2 of their top scorers in Heatley and Setoguchi, and added an above-average Dman in Burns. If anything, they're only as good as they were last year, not any better.

Tomas Jurco everybody. Mark my words. This kid is going to be a SUPERSTAR. Watching him in interviews and on the ice, you can see that he has an INCREDIBLE amount of skill, but he has an enormous work ethic as well, and he continually says in his interviews that he's going to try as hard as he can to become better and better. Can't wait to see this guy in a couple years.

If he can sign Osgood at the league minimum, then I really think that there's a trade in the works. Conklin, Nabokov, etc would all take more money, and Holland knows it. I'm thinking Holland wants to package Hudler for a top 6 forward, because all this cap space is fishy.
