This is why Commodore was the best signing ever...
DatsyukianDangles122 replied to Majsheppard's topic in General
It would be awesome if when he scores a goal or gets a huge hit they play "I adore my 64, my Commodore 64" I can guarantee you that people would sing along. It would be absolutely amazing for fan spirit and the overall vibe of the team. -
Everyone here is way undervaluing Hudler. He had a bad start to the season, but still put up 37 points, which is respectable. Sure he didn't live up to expectations, but anyone that thinks he is 'worth nothing' is kidding themselves. If toronto can pull off Lebda + AHLer for Franson and Lombardi, then the DRW can definitely get a respectable return for Hudler + Smith/Kindl and a pick. That's a great package actually.

Wings sign D Ian White to 2-year, $5.75m contract
DatsyukianDangles122 replied to germanwing's topic in General
Ian White has a lot of heart. I think our D is looking pretty good now. I still think that the trade with Winnipeg for Bogo would be beneficial, but at this point we're pretty set. I think we do need a top 6 forward though. Holland should look into what's left over once the RFA window has passed. Maybe Kostitsyn? Or try and make a trade with Hudler for a respectable guy that maybe scores less but has more heart and grit. That's something that the Wings severely need. -
Hudler + Kindl + first rounder for Bogosian. Hudler + Filp + Kindl for Yandle Seeing this, I'd rather have Bogosian as he has more potential and will definitely be cheaper than Yandle. Would leave us ample space to grab Gagne for $3-4M.

Wings re-sign Ericsson to 3-year, $9.75m contract
DatsyukianDangles122 replied to Ozzie30's topic in General
While this is a bad signing, to me it looks like Holland is ready to grab Bogosian. He's been eyeing Bogosian for a while now, and Winnipeg is a team that needs to meet the floor anyway. Package with Ericsson + Hudler + a 2012 draft pick = bogosian? It would be good for Winnipeg, because they need some offensive firepower more than they need D. Ericsson and Hudler are also both great players, and a change of scenery might propel them out of their stale state. Holland's too smart to make deals like this with the intention of actually keeping Ericsson. The man has shown great cunning and intelligence over the years. I'm confident he won't let us down now. -
Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo
DatsyukianDangles122 replied to Travis's topic in General
He said that he hasn't had a 'taste' of the cup for too long, and that it's 'been too long since I've won the Stanley Cup'. So yeah, his main focus is winning the cup again, regardless of whether or not he's won it before. Plus he recently said that he wants to go to a big hockey market because he didn't like walking into the empty seats in Dallas and Tampa. I think Detroit would be a perfect fit for him. -
Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo

I know I'll get flak for this...but why not go for Richards? Ask him to take a little less money than what he could get from Toronto or NYR for a chance at the Cup. He's already said that his biggest consideration is being on a contender, so it's worth a shot. 6-7M for Richards, 5M for Wisniewski/Ehrhoff, 1M for a backup goalie. I think it's worth it. -
Yeah, makes sense. maybe $0.8M for Osgood, IF he plays. I'm thinking Ehrhoff shouldn't be paid any more than $6M, as he's not at a Lidstrom level yet. So with that reduction on Osgood, I'll put Ehrhoff at $5.6M. I think it's reasonable. Also keep in mind that I overpaid some guys like Ericsson, who should really be making around $1M. I'll edit my post.

Hey guys, new user here. Here's my 'wishlist' on the 2011 offseason. This isn't really a wishlist - its more what I think should happen. I think it's pretty realistic. FORWARDS: Henrik Zetterberg ($6M) – Pavel Datsyuk ($6.7M) – Johan Franzen ($3.95M) Valtteri Filppula ($3M) – Brooks Laich ($3.5M) – Todd Bertuzzi ($1.93M) Tomas Holmstrom($1.88M) – Jiri Hudler ($2.88M) – Dan Cleary ($2.8M) Patrick Eaves ($1M) – Darren Helm ($0.9M) – Justin Abdelkader ($0.8M) Mursak ($0.55M) – Emmerton ($0.53M) DEFENSEMEN: Nicklas Lidstrom ($6.2M) – Christian Ehrhoff ($5.6M) Niklas Kronwall ($3M) – James Wisniewski ($4.5M) Brad Stuart ($3.75M) – Jonathan Ericsson ($1M) Kindl ($0.88M) GOALTENDERS: Jimmy Howard ($2.25M) Brian Boucher ($1M) I think that this is reasonable and relatively likely, especially considering Holland's dislike for huge roster changes. I was very generous with the salaries to the UFAs, and those could be bumped down if possible which would give us room to sign a proven backup goalie like Boucher or Conklin. We could even opt out of either Wisniewski or Ehrhoff and spring for someone like Babchuk as a replacement for one of those two, and that would give us space for Conklin plus another forward like Upshall or Vrbata to compliment Laich. EDIT: I replaced Osgood with Boucher and fixed up some salary problems Just my 2 cents.
