Fact: I hate all pairs of brothers playing against Detroit. I don't know the announcer's name but he gets on my nerves "they sometimes say brothers share a brain" nobody says that. shutup.

The preds announcers are brutal

I got beaked pretty bad in Vancouver for the game on December 21st this past year. Most of it was fine and a couple of the guys who were making jokes ended up buying my drinks even but some of their fans were ridiculous. After the game one guy was following my friend and I and just yelling the most vulgar comments to me until some other Van fans grabbed him and made him stop. So it does happen at every arena, I think I would have had a lot harder time if I weren't a girl because I did see two guys that looked like they were gonna fight some of the wings fans there. It's a shame when a few assholes make everyone look bad.

I can see this getting a suspension but I don't think it should. If they suspend Kronner then what? players skate around with their neck out and their head down to make sure nobody can touch them?

I'm just gonna breeze right past the loss since I hate the Canucks and I don't like losing and this combines those two horrible things...but am I the only one who was beyond annoyed at Luongo's reaction and the entire team's playoff style, celebratory group hug?

I've run into quite a few NHL guys before. Ran into Stevie Y last summer actually, but he was born in my hometown. The Niedermayer brothers, Lafleurs and quite a few others current or retired. I've been lucky because so many players were born here, raised here or played for the WHL team in town. We used to billet players and so did friends of mine so I got to meet quite a few guys that way. My friend used to billet Stoll and Comrie and he's golfed with a few Wings so he's working on getting me some more autographs haha, he got me an autograph from Dennis Polonich when they were talking at the Kings-Coyotes game the other day. My goal in life is to meet Pavel and Bert.

That second period was really embarrassing. I'm glad the goaltending situation is in a better place but come on. If i have to watch E set up the other team one more time I'm going fly to Detroit and beat the crap out of that kid

Thanks to living in BC, I get to constantly hear about how important Vancouver games vs Detroit are. Nearly every nucks fan I know is building this up like its the beginning of the playoffs. I agree that the win against the sharks was a bigger deal but I'd like to see the Wings win this so I don't have to hear the gloating around here. As far as it being the popular thing to do, hating the Canucks, the fans in my area have been so wildly arrogant and obnoxious and the team has played in a way that I just don't enjoy watching. It's not like everybody just hates them for no reason and I assure you that it's not "jealousy" as most people claim.

So let me get this straight....they don't think it was racially motivated but it still deserved a suspension? I can't be the only one who thinks that's ridiculous.

There are also no NHL players who were, at one time, personally enslaved but many players probably have family that were treated badly based on race OR because of homosexuality. I see where you are coming from but racial slurs and homophobic slurs both carry a lot of weight and are, imo, out of line. That being said, I don't think the league can regulate trash talk but this sort of thing would be better handled by the team, it would make sense to me for them to sit him a few games or something just to show that they don't condone the behavior.

I'm not at all surprised that Canadian teams make lots of money, the whole country loves hockey. The problem comes in when people say that teams should relocate, we just don't have enough cities that are big enough to support teams. Maybe a couple more teams could be up here but they wouldn't all produce this kind of revenue.

Canada has been great in their first 2 games! (I'm glad the wings prospects have been doing well though)

I'll be at this game! flew in from the easy kootenays yesterday just for this, first nhl game ever. Go Wings!
