This is very accurate. I've tried explaining to my friends from the States that some Americans are crazy for football, some for baseball, others basketball but here it's all about hockey. Toronto is famous for media scrutiny but mostly because Toronto is our biggest city and the Leafs are a dumpster fire. I live in BC and Vancouver is under a lot of pressure, and Calgary makes a big deal about the Flames. I genuinely believe that all Canadian markets are hard to play in but Toronto receives the most notoriety for their behaviour.

I've seen a lot of people on Reddit and other forums today saying how he shouldn't be vilified for this because it was heat of the moment and obviously dangerous but caused no injury. It makes me angry because those same people will insult Bertuzzi at every turn even though the difference is only in the result. (I don't feel like I've expressed that thought as well as I'd like to but it's 1am and my third try at typing it so I give up.)

Maybe, the guys who were put on the shootout have been specifically practicing for shootouts and maybe they were doing better than all the other players that all of the great NHL coaches in the forums would have put in. Edited for spelling
