Why is this an argument???? Datsyuk isn't going to demand 8-9mil/year. I would be surprised if he even demanded 7mil/year. Anything less than 7 is more than fair for a player like Datsyuk

I know toews did some stupid crap against Detroit, but he's one of the best captains in the league. That was the first time I've ever seen him taken off his game or complain to the media. That just shows what a good job Detroit did shutting him down. Toews is one of the few blackhawks I actually like.

He struggled when Zetterberg struggled. That's my point. With more depth in the top 6, it will be easier to match up scorers with supporters. If filppula and Zetterberg don't work together, Babcock can match him with Brunner. nyquist or Datsyuk instead

Penner could be a cheap solution to the size problem. I don't know if I would want him though

Filppula is better thanyou guys give him credit for. He struggled at times this year because he can't be "the guy" on a line. He works as a supporting guy to a better player. We are going to be much deeper next year even if Holland makes no changes because our young guys will probably all get better. We'll have Nyquist or brunner in the top six, which should take some responsibility away from Filppula. Filppula also played really well with Bertuzzi at times in the 2012 season. Assuming he gets healthy, he should replace cleary in the top 6, giving Filppula the shooter he needs. 5mil is obviously too much, but at this point I don't think he'll be able to get that anywhere. I think Holland gets him for 4-4.5mil

Exactly! People seem to think we're going to be walked all over in the east. I don't even think the east is that much different than the west. They have Boston, but St. Louis, LA and San Jose aren't slouches in the hitting department.

Viktor Stalberg: 6'3" 210 Lbs. Among the fastest in the league. Great potential but hasn't clicked in Chicago's organization. Why would anyone NOT want someone who is big AND fast????

But Howard and mrazek will be our goalies for several years to come and the others are pretty well suited for the ahl. We only need a couple good goalies
